View Full Version : switch mirrored side ?
sebek27 04-06-2004, 12:25 AM is there anyway to switch the side that's being mirrored so that it is editable instead of the other side ? does that make sense :D
let me try again... let's say i model half of something, now I want the side that's mirrored to be editable instead of the side I started with..

Why would you want to do that? You could flip the model so that the editable side is on the side you want.

yeah but I really want the other side to be editable, basically i created a hand on the wrong side :D so now i want to make that side editable so i don't have to redo the hand

I'm not sure that the editable side can be changed as you suggested in the first post. Not sure why you'd want to flip it like that. Symmetrical is still symmetrical. Without turning the whole mesh editable, both sides will always look the same.
If you're just concerned about turning a left hand into a right hand you could always just use the mirror function for a selection of polygons.

simply mirror the object, i.e. in the coordinates manager set the scale to be -1 in whichever axis you're using.
