I am exploring furring options in Maya and I was wondering what is best- Maya Fur or Shave and a Haircut??

As it currently stands, it would seem easier to use Shave and a Haircut as I have a poly model- but would be it as good/better than Maya Fur?? I'd like to hear the pros and cons of each.
