these two headmodels were done in an hour each as part of my getting familiar with zbrush. i can't wait to check out version 2.0.

whoa, one hour each? Looks great. I like the top one especially. I don't know anything about Zbrush, but was this nurbs or polygons?

Yeah, Zbrush is pretty fast. Those objects are about 250k polys at the end of it, though, but there's a lot of talk about using it for generating normal maps for game use, and I heard Weta Digital are using it as a concepting tool to supplement sculpey maquettes. (the high polycount is my reason for not doing full figure models, my computer can't handle it :))

Re: the objects being nurbs or polys; while you're working with them, the objects are polygons - but as soon as you 'disengage' them they become 2.5d: there's still depth information there, but you can no longer manipulate them as you would in a conventional 3d package. Basically they work with this idea that pixels on your canvas have both X,Y and Z information - they call this 'pixols'. Your object isn't lost after being turned 2.5d though, since they store all 3d objects in a 'tools' panel, so you can go back and re-edit it.

This might not make much sense, but check it out - As Maxsmackage says, it's something else. Well. He said it was weird =) I don't think it is, but it's different.

all the best.
