Folks sometimes forget that these images don't exist in a vacuum: you have type that has to go on top of them at some point in their lives. As such, this definitely does NOT need a background scene! That's great stuff!

I wonder if you test with a gradient as the background to avoid the straight line between the ground and the 'sky'

The background is also okay for me, only suggestions: get rid of the hard horizont line and maybe add a little more smoke.
