View Full Version : texturing/surfacing help
sebek27 04-02-2004, 09:22 PM I am a C4D and LW user and when I was deciding on which software to buy, I really went with these because they are easy to use for modeling and texturing. when I use XSI EXP and try to texture/surface something, it seems very hard to do; would anyone share a good tutorial on using MR in XSI or good basic texturing/surfacing how to in XSI ? thanks

I don't know of any specific tutorials offhand, but I found that the accompanying docs with the Exp version were more than enough for explaining what all the Render Tree functions do :) Once you know what each one does, then texturing and shading (as well as UV mapping) in XSI is really, really simple. It's really just a matter of understanding what each of the different nodes does.
You might want to try looking at Ed Harris's site though... he has loads of tuts although I am not sure if he has anything as basic as what you are looking for...

yea thats pretty basic stuff. thats just the way xsi works , it might be faster for you to do it in c4d or lw
Yap, lot faster in LW or C4D, but XSI will give more powerfull options, just ask Leigh
