I first submitted this as a 2D sketch- but now I am thinking 3D.
A spy bee with mechanical legs and a chip implant.

Interesting, it looks cool. Maybe it could be more than a spy, like some kind of pre programmed assasin that uses it's stinger to spead a deadly disease? I dunno it all depends on what you want to do with it.

cheers:beer:

I think I am going to model the bee body now- it will take a while and in the meantime I hope for some feedback on the leg.

next comes a wing- I think I will post that with textures on

Here's the wing... and the body with textures on. Keep going...

So I am still thinking about the final composition.
I think that the bee should do something more than just fly... inject poison or steal data from a computer or even open a lock.
I am really open to suggestions- what do you think I should do with it?

It could be interesting to watch the bee in front of a soldier, and the soldier with the hands up:shrug: Nice bee

I think that could be the way to go...

As you asked lol i arrive there to put my critics lol, the first thing i noticed is that
there is already someone who is working
on an insect like yours, the only difference is that the other artist is working on a mosquito.
Perhaps you could add some originality to your work tinking of "the number"
Bee are often in number, perhaps you could think about concept of "multi MEMs" (Micro Electro Mechanisms) MEMs could be part of numerousous bees and arranged in different forms ?

Keep it up !

harnelbe has a good point... It should have more radical/impressive stuff to win over the mosquito...

Good Luck!

Thanks guys- I really like the ideea of an army of MEM's...
I am texturing now one mechanical leg and I will post it soon to get some input.
Hey- I really appreciate the input!
Keep up the good work!

Hi folks, I'm back after a few days of vacation.
I see that no one has commented on my texturing test. I will proceed with the modeling. The two front legs are up next- then I will assemble the cyberbee and start playing with lighting.

I'm back from vacations too, Nice model! I would like to see more, I don't have critics by the moment

Hey tedjel! I'm on your thread at last. I checked your things and I think it's funny. The killer bee is a nice idea.
I saw you already made the body with the fur, but here my opinion: bees are nice, but WASPS are way more nasty!
The color, the shape of them are more scary. When I see a bee in my house, I wanna help it finding the exit, but with a wasp, I run away and seek for a weapon!
But that's just my opinion. An army of wasps MEMs would be the worst killer squadron ever!

Otherwise, your modeling looks very nice. Maybe you should refine the design of the "foot", so it would look more like a real improvement for the insect, allowing it to do something it shouldn't be able to do without it...

Good concept, keep it up!

:wavey: thanks Frood
I appreciate your input!
Here's why I chose a bee instead of a wasp: you said that when you see a bee you want to help her out but when you see a wasp you run- that's exactly why! A bee is a friendly insect. No one looks at it as a threat- that makes it a more efficient killing/spying tool.
Refining the foot- I am working on the two front limbs- I will take your advice there and add some more elements . The back leg- the one allready textured is ment to enable the killer cyber bee to jump faster out of dangers way- that is why it has 4 joints instead of 3. The foot has the ability to adhere to any kind of surface and even to grab on to things- for increased stability and for transporting larger objects.
Thanks a lot for your input!

Hi tedjel...........Well wanted to come in and say you are putting together some good effort here...........Nice concept and modleing looks good so far.I think perhaps you could give this little guy a more "Realistic toon" look, more xxxagerated.Perhaps a Bee on some super juice or something.More thick, wide, larger than should be normally........Just a little thought for you. Also the textures could be even more old, crusty rust perhaps? But that's a minor taste thing. What yopu do have is nice so far.....

The model is coming along quite well, god effort, and keep the bee going strong.......

the bee got legs- not all of them but I had to give it a bit of light as well...
any thoughts.../
