Hi, just joined the challenge. A few busy months coming up, but still hope I will have time to complete the image.
This is just a quick 5 minute concept sketch. I want to create a futuristic ironworker working on a skyscraper. All his tools are integrated in his body, including some sort of anti gravity devices that keep him safe. I want to depict him during his lunchbreak, I guess because that shows that now matter how hi tech he is, with artificial tool limbs etc. he is still human, and needs to take a break to eat.
In the background I want to show the city below, and some other ironworkers working on another part of the building.
As you can probably tell I'm inspired by the old image of the ironworkers eating lunch on a beam high above New York.
I've just started doing my research for tools, construcion methods etc. etc. so the sketches should change, but I just wanted to get started and post the idea.
Doh! I just saw the winning entry of the 3Dluvr contest #36 - by Pavel Fedorchuk.

Because of the uncanny resemblance to my concept I'm not going to take this any further. Especially since he was first :-) I'll try to come up with something else instead.
Luckily (!) I've been too busy lately to make any progress, so at least I haven't been wasting my time :-)
