Someone did this in Blender once - they used the knife tool to cut holes in the front edges so that it appeared that the ones in the back were in fact in the front. The shadows gave it away though, I'm curious how you did it.

This time too, if you look closely there are no shadows either :P so i think its done the same as your blender guy :) Nice work max, simple but nice

yes I used booleans to cut out the front sections. The omnidirectional lighting fixes the sahdow problem. I'm glad you all like it, i'll post a wireframe a little later when I'm back on my home computer.
