i'm researching some anti-aliasing problems with entropy

i can't seem to get a decent ani-aliasing with high contrast scenes

here's an example i'm trying to tweak

i have lowered the Shading Rate and increased Spatial Quality X/Y to any possible values - but in vain

anyone knows of good places to check out regarding Entropy?

i think it's because of default PixelFilter "Catmull-Rom" 3 3
(sharpens contrasts)
use "Gaussian" 2 2 and PixelSampels 4 4

hope it's better now;)

thx for helping out Fex,

unfortunately entropy was dropped by exluna (aquired by nvidia)

no more need to research a dead product:(

Research a dead product?

I'm quite sure that many people will continue to use Entropy regardless of the fact that there won't likely be any updates anymore.
The renderer is damn stable, fast and feature-loaded. Most important -- it is RMan compliant. This year's SIGGRAPH RMAn course notes had some article about production useable GI utilizing Entropy for sudden render-passes by ILM.

Besides, BMRT hasn't seen updates for a long time but nevertheless still is used on many shows. Entropy from some pov is a BMRT replacement on steroids, so why should someone owning a license stop using it?

If a car is no longer manufactured, that shouldn't stop you from driving it, should it?
