View Full Version : How can I quickly find a lost material?
nanni700 03-30-2004, 06:59 AM Hello,
opening a max-scene brings up a "Missing External Files" window, because there is a JPEG missing.
How can I quickly find the coresponding material to fix it?
Thanks a lot!

Maybe its because you moved that Max file or Jpeg file to a different location and Max cant find it.
You have to tell max where to find that jpeg file. There should be a dialogue box that allows you to choose the location of where the jpeg file is.
I hpoe this is what you wanted :)

Thank You SUPERMAX,
I dont have this jpg anymore, because it is a foreign max-scene. So my question was: Do I have to check ALL material by hand or is there trick to find it with a mouseklick?
Thanks a lot!

the error message should give you the title of the jpg file.
If it`s missing from the actual file, and you didn`t move it....then it`s virtually impossible to find it again. It could be a million possibilities.Unless you d/l the file again and see if it`s in your new d/l.

Ok, the file is gone. But if I find the maxobject and its material I can fix it, right?
Or am I totaly confused now?
Sorry and thank you again!
