These are just ideas; basically, its an elephant with enhanced legs and machinery replacing many of its internal structure. Much of the flesh is pulled over and stapled to the frame. Three elephant heads are fused to make one, each head uses its trunk's function to control a heavy gun. The function of this machine is for futuristic, military purposes in remote areas - and to raise lots of kain.

Another amazing concept.
i like a lot the touch of mysticism you have
chosen with an elephant wich is a god in
India which hav suggest a lot of impressive illustrations ;) .

A the end of the contest we'll be able to put all the animals modeled in a great
Cyber "Noë Arch"

I stay tuned to your work.

I started this model this past weekend; as of now, it is identically symmetrical and will be adjusted later. Slapped on a blinn texture - all things yet to come if i can finish this thing within my hectic school schedule =( Next thing to work on will be the guns attached to the three trunks. C&C always welcome!

I like what I see, I do not need to read your concept because it is coming through the 3D model- fantastic

Only crit, let the environment enhance this creation of yours- it would be a missed opportunity to stick this wonderful creation in just any old scene!

Just trying to see where this is heading. Sometimes difficult to see the entire volume from concepts on paper. C&C always welcome.

Hell no man.. So far, u r the most high-ambitious animal high-tech designer for the whole week i do research here!
3 heads elephant!!!.... u goin to beat down most of the animal concepts here.

days ago, i was jst thinkin of 2 head mammals!!...i' m so out!..

lucky i found this one. Now i haf to throw my silly ideas out....THX man!

U could be KING! From the sketch, it makes me feel dat it can kill the LOTR giant elephant faster than Legolas... WOAH!

i wish to see it flying like Jumbo too~

i like the new shoulder guns here, though they'd probably burn the heck out of the animal after a few minutes of firing... but what the heck, the generals probably don't care

glad you removed the cylinder from the body. it might have been just to establish the general volume back there, but it was much too simple...

i add my vote to the elephant god idea too, or at least add the headcloth/tassles/etc that you see in pics...

saraki .. great 2d you got there .. best of luck and hoping the model turns out half as good as the drawing ... good stuff:thumbsup:

Same remark as Pigwater.
i hope you'll get the same mood of your
concept sketche which is amazing !

Finals are over! This is an update of the front half of the body. Additional elements will be added - wires, another gun, and tweaks to the noses. Time is a factor atm so i'm still not sure how much detail will go into the back since it will not be seen much in the final render.

Chrislomaka: I'd usually put more thought into ideation when concepting or designing but this concept is very impractical as far as reality is concerned, so yup, the generals probably won't mind! I will consider the elephant headcloth thing though - a lot of this project developed through the progress since my earliest concepts didn't quite have everything nailed, we'll see .. thanks for comment.

Pigwater & Harnelbe: Thanks guys for the support :)

Essence: Thanks for checking my thread out, it really is amazing the amount of talent and number of contestants that are being put into this contest - all in all a great learning experience - i checked out your awesome model and is coming along wonderfully Best wishes!:buttrock:

Modelling is complete - pretty much. UV mapping, texturing, and then I hope i have some time to setup a little rig to pose him before composite; i'm not sure i'll finish but i'll give it my best shot.

I have started texturing - these are only a couple tests and I'll probably start over. More to come soon.

Texture update - The main body flesh section is almost done, some areas need refinement but time is ticking and it might just have to wait till composite.

This is a view of the front of the head - again, the displace needs refinement but this might have to do for now. The remaining mechanical body parts will be textured next. I am trying hard and really want to finish in time!

This update is texturing, rendering, and rigging - a combination. It is another previsualization to see where this is headed. There are still a number of areas that must be cleaned up, but i think the final image will have a similar composition to this.

Oz and Virtuoso - Hey thanks for checking in on my thread and for the words of encouragement! I've never really done this much 3d before so i'm learning as I go; as frustrating as it is at times, its rewarding and i'm learning a heck of a lot, thanks again for the support! :)

Texturing is 95% complete, this rig took a while to pose in order to see the anatomy. I think this pose will be used for the final image. I will be working on a background of some sort next and finish this thing up. And shadows haven't been added yet.

Another Testrender. The ground environment has been started and is still unfinished. I will be touching that up with some more texture. The sky was done very roughly as a previsualization - that will further be detailed later today. This is very close to the final composition and I'm in the process of adding more detail, fixing some issues and touching up.

Virtuoso: Yes i will definately agree with that, the learning never stops!

Ufotung: Thank you for checking my thread:)

dinodog_Jr: Thanks for the comment! The coloring, I agree, I too wasn't satisfied with it and I struggled for a while trying to get a sence of color palette. As a result, I reposed the rig, re did half of the textures in hopes to improve that. Thanks for pointing this out, critiques are very helpful. It is amazing to be participating in this contest among many with great talents.

Hanzo: I really actually like animals haha; i'm using photoshop for compositing and texturing, zbrush for texturing, and everything else is done in maya.

Essence: Thanks Essence for the comment! after almost 3 monthes this is finally coming to a close i'll see you there!:D

Compositing was a simple four layer pass; a lot of it was fixed through the render. However, i spent then entire day creating the background sky and doing touch-ups in photoshop.
