View Full Version : Soft Body wrap to Curve + Paint Effect = No Batch Render

I am using Maya 5.0 w/ Maya Renderer, Not Mental Ray.

My scene setup is:

Air Field -> Soft Body wrapped to Curve -> Paint effect

My animation looks correct when I playblast it.

When I render a single frame any where in the timeline it renders correctly.

When I perform a batch render no motion happens. I looks as if it is rendering the first frame over and over. Very frustrating. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I have also tried the MEL script RenderWindowPlus to render frame by frame, but I get no motion as well. Very strange.

Any ideas?? Thank You!

My suggestion would be to cache the softbody simulation. Simulations and batch rendering don't always agree, but if it's cached and no actual calculation needs to be done at rendertime, things often work a lot better.

Particles > Create Particle Disk Cache.
