View Full Version : slow rig in max5

I've skinned a polycharacter to bones (mainly FK bones and a few dummies here and there), transforming and rotation the root of this pre-rigged character is a joy - but when I apply an IK solver (limp or HI) it becomes incredibly slow to interact with... even adding an IK solver to a bone chain out side of the main character makes the character slow ... when I make a few keyframes and scrub the timeslider it updates near realtime.
The Animators is :cry:
I am bound to figure this out in max5 for this project, although it seems not to be a problem anymore in max6 - actually I havn't been able to compare it proberly -- if anyone has some insight in this slowdown or a possible workaround for max5 I'd appreciate it. :wavey:
