View Full Version : Character: Female head
Hi,
This is a female head, which I have been modelling. I'm beginner and this is my first work, which I've got almost ready. I used photoref from frontside. Please comment! Made in 3dsmax.

did you use angelina jolie's picture as a reference ? =)
well, that upperlip seems to be way too big and there's too much angle on the corner. whole Head and the jaw are little bit too long, try scale them little bit down. also eyes seems to be too far away each other. and try rotating that ear little bit and bend it
nose and the eyebrow area looks good.
not bad for a 1st work and there are couple of thing to change before it looks natural

The ears are too flat and the nosebridge is too sharp, could bee a mirror issue though. And I agree on the upper lip being too big.
Anyway, it's a nice head overall. I like the strong chin. However if the mouth would be closed the jaw should be a little bit more closed too.
Thanks for the comments!
I used Jessica Alba as a reference and she has a big upper lip, so I think I'm not going to change that.
Serial what did you mean "too much angle"? Do you mean the upper lip should be more straigth from the side view? I think I should improve the nose bridge and the ears as you mentioned.
Is there something wrong in the overall shape of the head? It just doesn't look good and I'm not able to resolve what's going wrong! I'll send updated pics when I have time to work on this..
I tried to paint textures in photoshop, there's one render. I can't show you both sides because the texture is so asymmetric..
