View Full Version : Turning off all HN
Is there a way to quickly turn off all HyperNURBS objects, without effecting Booleans also?
I tried a bit with the selection tool and I can get them all selected at once but I don't see any possibility to switch them all off. I can't use turn off all generators as the Booleans need to remain active.
I've got this way too large scene, whith an unhealthy amount of HN's. it would be torture to select them all manually.
I vaguely remember reading something about a plug that lets you manage big scenes, can anybody tell me where I saw that...?
Though I prefer cheaper alternatives... :)
BTW, is it me, or is cinema slowly growing out of it's skin? I feel cinema really needs some work on it's macromanagement. And not only on handling, I've got some serious speed issues as well (even with everything switched off/hidden).

Try the plugin Global On/Off 2.01 (http://www.studio-fabian.de). It lets you switch on and off all objects of a selected type at once.

Don't know about the speed issues, but you're not the only one who feels C4D needs a rehaul.

Use the select tool inside the selection filter instead of getting plugins.

Can you turn all HN on/off via the selection filter as well? Not the dots but the green hooks, I mean?

You can do whatever you want, just use the select tool menu to select all the HN, then go into the AM and deactivate them, or turn the visibility off, or the rendering off etc

"cinema really needs some work on it's macromanagement"
Comapare it to other 3D apps, it's a dream come true. It could use a few tweaks here and there, but on the whole there's not much to complain about.

What does "macromanagement" mean?

I personally think he just means; how cinema manages things like groups and extensions
of which i think it does an amazing job.

I might give this one a try. Personally I would love it if Cinema had global on-off switches for HN's and Xpresso.
With that I mean managing the bigger stuff, groups of objects, textures and tags etc. Instead of managing individual objects textures or tags.
For example, I can't believe the Tabs for materials are only just in, my latest image (check it out here (http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=Kirl)) would have been an uncomprehensible mess without them.
It's just about keeping a scene simple and accesible as it becomes increasingly complex.
I'm not very familiar with the other programs so I don't compare it to anything, but regardless, even the 'best' program can always be improved...
