If anyone has any thoughts or contacts i would love the hear from them.

I'm curious myself...

Personally, I'd be willing to take a major pay cut to be able to work and live in Montreal.

There aren't as many studios as in Toronto or Vancouver, I believe, but there's still jobs to be had in Montreal. I doubt the pay varies that much from other Canadian cities.

The general impression i am getting off other artists in Montreal is not that good. It would seem that jobs are few and far between and the state of the industry is pretty shit all round!

Not particuly encouraging but who knows.

Cheers Chris.................

Montreal is a great city to live in...however things are currently really slow at the moment there are some major projects going on, however everything is on a contract base, or cheap labor. It's really hard to find something that is somewhat stable, a lot of my co-workers wishes to move to the Stats hoping to find something bigger and better....I hope things will start picking up shortly ...an one big disavantage here in Montreal is that the fact that we have too many 3D school it' started out with 2 major one (Nad and Icari) but now you can learn 3D almost to any community college, so your demo reel needs to be strong! and the more experience you have the better. I heard that things in Toronto are becoming better, however an other small factor
Montreal = XSI | Softimage | Discreet
Toronto = Maya

Good luck!
cheers
