View Full Version : Photogenics HDR
polyester 03-23-2004, 04:20 PM Hey guys, just wanted to verify with anyone that's used Photogenics HDR that you can indeed unwrap spherical images. It doesn't specify on the site.
Thanks,

You can unwrap it using hdrshop and then edit in photogenics for sure, even if photogenics wouldn't do it for you. (Maybe it does, I don't know :) )

That's the problem...we can't use HDRshop anymore without paying out the wazoo for another license for only another 2 years. We just wanted to know what our other options were. Curious to see if Photogenics would do all the same stuff as HDRShop.
Thanks,
Poly

Hmmm.. Photogenics doesn't do that I believe.
Are you making custom HDRI's??
Then you could process each picture with panorama tools before making it into a hdri (which I guess Photogenics can build a hdri from a series of images), but there are also command line tools for the job.
One really absurd solution would be saving the hdri in different exposures in the good old 24 bit format, maybe using a HDRI viewer, and then processing it using panoramatools, and then remake HDRI's out of the old one. Yeah, an absurd one at that but could work :)
