Did this girl for a game my school is working on. I went high on the polys for myself but I'll reduce it to around 3k for the game.
The concept of the girl is not my own.

i was wondering what software you used...and if you have a soft/harden normals option in it....
have you considered such an option to get it a little smoother without more geometry?

otherwise it is amazing work.

ay Sean, nice girl. she's looking good.

the only change I would suggest is widen her hip area a bit. it seems too narrow to me. and she's still got the no-nipples syndrome... I know that's going to be covered in her clothing texture, but it looks funny at the moment.

I like the small changes you made from the concepts. the horns on her headdress look better with the forward flow.

nice work. what's the deadline for her?

btw, are those howard's sketches?

I must say that you just keep getting better and better with each model you do. I absolutely can not wait until you have this one textured. This will no doubt help your reel out, that's for sure (as if you needed help to begin with...). I only have one issue with her.....the breasts look sawed off. I think you should just round them off a little bit more so they don't look like the nips are cut off. Or to be politically correct....nipples. Other than that, she looks great! Do I sense a hint of Carmen?? Keep up the good work!

yeah, I figured I could add a story to the reason her nipples are sawed off. :surprised

Thanks for the comments, never unwrapped a high poly model before, its kinda scareing me. I should have uved a low poly version before I got crazy with the cut tool

The sketches were done by Howard Tsing.

Wicked honey! She's almost ready to ship. I'd give some more attention to the edgeloops around her thighs. Right now they're nondescript. Would love to see some light bounce of the curve of her quads.

Update, plus a hardware smooth, 6800 polys tri'd. And god is it hard to make a female face, so many subtleties.

Hey sean! Looking good, I was curious though if you show the Lowpoly version of it, I want to see how you took care of some topology issues within the model.

No doubt girls faces are the hardest to create and look good, especially if your trying to apply a comic style to it. With male models you can get away with making them look Fugly.

Good times!

The problem most people have when tackling a face is, there is no one face for that face.

That and the fact many when first beginning tend to get gender and age markers mixed up. Often resorting to sort of random blending of the two, without an understanding as to the why of it all.

Everything is blocked it now, you can kinda see the direction im going with the face. Going to translate that to the rest of the skin. It might be too extreme of color shifts, we'll see when I get something more complete.

Lookin awesome.. i like the ring on the chest. leather looks awesome.. my dudes going to have leather just like that only brown. Its too early to really critique (on the map).. and too late on the model :) hehe. her stance is awesome. feels grounded, weighted. and keep with the skin tone.. i think you made the right choice (preference, but whatever).

Ok its done, theres a lot of little things I could tweek but ive gotten to the point where I cant learn anymore. I'm just going to keep the ball rolling and move forward. Shes 6800 polys, by far my highest. The white area on her dress where the red straps are, are supposed to be transparent, I hate mayas renderer/dont understand it so these are just screengrabs of the perspective view... Even though im done with It I'm down for comments/critiques..

Dude, thats so awesome! The one thing thats bugging me, is under her chest, her skin gets really pink/purple a little too fast I think. Nice job mate!

Ah yes, the female form... Anywho, great model overall, I'm really impressed by the progress you make with each different model you post. I think as far as the process of building a character goes, your well, great. Now for the crit.
Textureing is really the only thing that hurst this model. Thats not to say the texture is all bad. Its really the subtle things that decays from the quality. You know, that made no sense. So, how to fix it. If you look at your outfit, mainly the upper half, you've seemed to have put hightlights and some dark areas in your texture to indicate a light source, even if it is fake. I think you should continue this throughout the rest of the texture. Especially on the cloth parts, that seem flat when compared to the volume your skin and other areas have. The best way to fake a rich, 3d texture, is to "help" the lighting some. Let me explain. There are always parts of the body that will nine times out of ten remain dark, between the legs, under the arms, around the bottom half of the boots, and other areas that will be lighter. When I texture I find it helps if I fake a light source while I'm coloring out the textureing. I think if you lighten and darken certain areas of the cloth and maybe push the leather esk texture on the torso, you'll get a fuller more realistic texture. I hope all this made sense, but now to end it.
Great model, keep it up :)
