Hi all,

I have just finished installing the new driver for nvidia (do I have to uninstall the old one first?) and my start bar on the bottom is gone? I may click it off accidentally but how can I bring it back? Help, please????

Thanks

Do you see any bar at all? Its possible it just got minimized.

If so, move to the thin grey bar at the bottom, place the mouse cursor over the edge, and arrows will appear to allow you to resize it.

Is your resolution also out of wack? If so, your task bar could just be off the screen. Try resizing your display!

Thanks, GregHess....

Pffff... I was panicing for an hour today. I have to restart windows under safe mode, uninstall the driver, restart again and install a new driver....

I think its because I didn't uninstall the old driver.

Thanks a lot for your help

get a computer with start bar as it is on boot, and desktop, etc. no open programs... then do a screen print, save the screen print as background, now move all icons on desktop to another folder... and minimize start bar, after putting it on top of the screen. Now turn on the webcam to get the reaction of the next person that uses that computer! :)

You're gonna have to give a little more info...

Is it the icon in the quicklaunch that minimises everything so you see just the desktop?

EDIT: See here for help with quicklaunch icon

Or is it an icon that was sat on your desktop that pointed somewhere else?

It's not so complicated... heck I've managed it. :)

I've zipped the .scr file and have put it on the web if it'll help you?

http://www.geocities.com/jbw_2/showdesktop.zip

extract it somewhere - it doesn't have to be the system32 folder, just somewhere safe! :) Then create a shortcut from it.
