Much delayed entry, I know, but I'm not *starting* work with only a month left. Have had to cut down on the scale of the image, but I think that ultimately this will work better.

The character has a gasmask grafted over her nose and mouth, and eyelids pulled open, in the style of eye examinations.

Originally inspired by a short piece of prose I wrote a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. I think I'll update it to fit the mood of the piece more.

***

You worship me. Don't deny it.
For hours a day, staring through my window, watching the lives of people you can never be, and never touch.

Does it make you feel better?

You know the ending; the ending is always the same, but you watch, and you smile. And if you don't like what you see, its easy to change the view. Watch the war, watch them die, and fear for your life on the other side of the glass.

Want to know a secret?. I like your fear. Its your addiction, and you'll keep coming back from more. You'll listen when I tell you to buy that piece of gym equipment that will make everything better. The face cream that will make you immortal. Cars and clothes, opiates and hair gel.
You consume at my command.

Stay in my warm embrace, and I will take care of you.

I am your god.

13,000 faces. Adding a bit more detail around the join between flesh and gasmask, and then I'll be converting it to nurbs for texturing.

model cleaned up somewhat, a little more detail added. I decided not to go NURBS; there's so many faces that its plenty smooth enough.

I promise the story will be a little more clear with lighting and texturing.

Liked your tv poem! What are you going to do between the face and the mask?

Greetings Kanga

thanks kanga :)
That's still a puzzling point. So far I'm thinking it'll be a blending, as if the mask was added surgically, and the skin has since healed itself/grown over the join somewhat.

can't type too well. Eyes feel like boiled eggs...I'm sure others know what I'm talking about...

I got distracted by KOTOR over the last few days, so I haven't gotten much done. Tried out a few texturing ideas that may be submitted, or scratched entirely.

SO, yeah. Modelling nearly done, I think. Fingers crossed I'll get it finished :)

yikes, 11 days. Definitely an experiment in how well I can work under pressure...
Detailing of the gasmask, and the join with the face. The head is polygons, and the mask nurbs.
