Ok, I'm rigging a character in max6.0 and I'm having some problems with the fingers. I wired each bone of every finger to a custom attribute in my "hand_control" to be able to make the fingers curl by pullig a slider. This works fine, however, if I want the joints on the finger not to curl but still rotate them at the root I'll have to use an expression in the wire parameters that includes a variable.

So my question would be, is it possible to use a custom attribute as a variable in an expression within the wire parameters somehow? And how would this look code-wise? It's not working for me right now but I don't know exactly how the "formula" would look for this to work. This would simplify things greatly for me... please help asap.

I might be going about this thing completely the wrong way, I don't know. I have yet another question now. When I wire the bones to a custom attribute they change orientation slightly. Is there any way that I can make them keep their initial offset, similar to when you use a constraint?
