This is a bounch of doodles, searching for the right idea.... I think I'm still far away from it, but its something to start with. 1000s ideas in my head, nothing on the paper. grrrr! Anyway, I started with an idea of a human spider, half of mechanic, half of organic. His job is being a scout in a future war... it has 4 legs and an upper body, which can be on higher (for observing the terrirory) or lower place (for sneaking, hidding), than his body where legs are attach. It would acctually be able to crawl under its own body... but im not sure if that is obvious from those sketches yet... :)

This is next step, still only a sketch. Not satisfied at all, but closeer than previous doodles. The idea can be seen now... i think. First part is a mechanical part (symbolic... still have to find something better for front part) and from here grows something organic, humanlike for now. His face will be cowered with mask (with googles and stuff like that) and his arms will be replaced with something more usefull than organic 5fingers hands.
Arrows are pointing the way the body can move (his backbone is very flexible :)
Some feedback will be most appriciated!

OK... some progress from the previous one... or just another variation maybe... this time in lower position, with upper (organic) body bent under itself (under mechanical part)... is this understandable in any way??? :))

I started sketching on a new concept in Painter, but I couldn stop, so its came to that phase... Nevermind, its still just an idea sketch, brainstorming,...
Some critics will be most welcome!

At this time, I start thinking about making a babyfactory. Sort of giant worm-like machine (maybe something like termite-queen) with one breast in its mouth and sharp teeth for ptoecting that breast. Still dont know which part will be mechanic and what would they serve for, but brainstorming goes on... :)

Friedric P

That's cool and disturbing ideas... :scream: And I really like the last sketch... The idea of breast in the mouth is quite original...
Good luck! :)

This time I introduce u to my new sketch, upgrade of previous one... the BabyFactory. It looks like a giant worm with "human" head and wide open mouth (where r mechanical spider-like legs with a breast in the middle... for breast-feeding), there r also some machinery, mechanical parts, pipes and radioactivity liquid, which is connected to the breast (yea, for breast-feeding... sick, I know :))
At the end of this worm, is a place, where little creatures are being born... also some mechanical parts to help the procedure.
So.... what do u think about that... except of sending me to the mental institution ;)

OK... I started with lineout progress and some shading over the sketch, although I didnt get a lot of backup yet...

Just to post something.. added more tones and shadows on a coffee brake today.

Thnx for feedback guyz! I really appriciate it!

Friedric P, Franky_Mo: I hope it doesnt bother u 2 much, if its disturbing a bit? From all the start I thought about, waht a sick idea to combine an organic form with a machine... so I just follow that thought.

I dont wanna have the most bizzate piece here  Something to wake up emotions in viewers

Another crazy idea from me, to make the pic a little bit less bizzare (for any posible girls who will vote ;))
For each baby who will come out (be "born") of that worm, will be a butterfly (again half mechanical, half organic) which will bring that baby to that breast (to feed a baby) and than fly away with him... :bounce:

Sorry, no pic this time... first i'll finish the lineart, than submit it.

In my opinion u should stay with your original idea. The more bizarre, the better, the more individual!!!
When u look at the evolution in the moment, your vision doesn't seem that unrealistic or bizarre... some fataly wrong-gone stemcell experiments:D

But thats just my two cents...

PS: And by the way... Most female artist are way more sick then we can ever dream about to be. I want to be a girl

Is there going to be an assembly line going past the breast to feed the young? Or maybe pipes that take the milk to the young?

Wow! I honestly didnt expect such a feedback... Im not use to it ;) So Im really grateful for that.

U'll have to wait for an update till tomorrow when I'll finished with shading and stuff. Its so much work to do beside that contest... mostly sleeping, but hey... mans got to sleep

TheMarshall: No pipes or extra stuff... it'll be like the rule of nature, only the strongest survives... So, the baby which will crawl to the breast first, is the winner for this season! :buttrock:
Ok... thats the first thing that crossed my mind.. ha ha.. Still dont know for shure whats gonna be like, but I have plenty of time till deadline ;)

OK.... some problems appeared...
Im not sure how to finish that tail of a giant worm, where the babies will come out. Should it be mechanical or organic? Im thinking of making a mechanical, coz its already 2 much of flesh... what do u think???
And in the upper part of the picture there is some perspective problems... I'll fix that when I'll start coloring it later.

And for anyone who asks whats those mechanical legs around the breast... they r for squeezing the breast, so the babies dont need to suck out that radioactivity liquid by them self :)
Those clips on worms mouth r for holding the mouth open (sharp teeth r potential danger for babies)
I added some lights on worms body as well (those round, dark things)... There will be more of them on colored version.. like those deep sea creatures.
More to the end of worms body there is a transparent skin (a membrane) through which it could be seen embryos flowing inside.

I hope that I didnt make 2 many mistakes describing the creature, so u all understand what I meant.

C&C r most welcome!

haha...sick concept.
dun worry, i am wif u.
I guess "it" is an overage breasts. a little look like rotten papaya.
i wont suck on it, man. Anyone?

U could draw some milk spill on the floor or on the skin of d breasts to make it looks like a "functional" breasts.
it looks "dry" to suck no more . The nipples seems a bit ripped off from the skin??....since u r in luv wif it, make the Nipple head bigger. U oredi drew it. Draw it proudly! It might make it looks like a sweet breasts. Yep, since got some mechanical claws on "it" A little bleed can make it looks like a Real flesh.
I guess this milk factory will be closed down soon or later if u ignore my opinion on ur breasts.
hehe..sorry i'm 1 sicko. No way, u r wif me, Ninja!

yea mine wasn't weird enough , i was just having a little
fun thinkin stuff up and givin you maybe a new idea or two,

maybe you could put a 80% percent robot head in the other

Ok folx... this is final lineart from me. Pencil work and some wacom adds in the front (a mechanical part which brings baby to the breast). In the back u can see a lot of other babies which were produced in babyfactory (giant-worm).

element5: the sky will be more yellow-orange and especially clean... a big contrast to the worm.

artjunkie: thnx!

goli: a focus will be on a baby, grabed by a mechanical arm, closing to the giant tit :D
It will be somehow the composition of 3 elements... worms head, a baby in the first plan and round part of the worm in the background.

I really like your concepts - and definitely the first time I've come across a breast in the mouth of a worm!! Makes a change from the more popular position upon a nearly naked woman which is so popular in this competion.

I like the composition - it really makes you wonder what the rest of the worm looks like - and i thought my ideas were a little weird. Some idea of scale might help, but hey I can't really fault your work and was trying to find something constructive to say...

I like your style of painting - looks great. looks like you are just about there so good luck:thumbsup:

I was doing some some changes with the ambient and perspective... i hope im on the right way :/

Help me please with some backup, I'll be most gratefull. Whats still "wrong"... is it obvious whats in the front and whats in the back?

Now i'll do the next first plan object, the hand with the baby in it... it will be put in the left side of the pic (just like on a sketch), than add some more details here and there and finally finished that piece.

So..:)
Its better with these new lights.

I'm not sure with the blue on the top of his head (btw head and queue)..values btw head-light and shadow-ambient are too comparables..
Maybe the shadow under the queue, at the second plan are too strong..
And :) , you have two yellow lights : why do you put a blue lightning ? (lights of the heads, the cylinders) I think that if you begin with a yellow (like the lights...) and finish with a blue ..the effect would be great !:)

Anyway ! Keep up your good work man !

Im not sure that i understood everything, but i'll do something in this way, correct the upper blue shadow/lite. The lower blue light (shadow of the worms head) is to attract the view, so that its sure its a first plan.

thnx again for ur time!

I really like this painting, and I especially like your color scheme. You're doing a great job at rendering this out, and I can't wait to see the finish.

In terms of what is not working for me (and for others that either agree or disagree, I urge you to comment as doing so will ultimately help him out):

I know that you want to have a focus on the mechanical arm and baby, and I think that it is important for you to get that element in right away so that you can compare it against the rest of the painting. That way you can determine how best to make that and the mouth the first read. Thus far my eye is immediatey drawn to the lower righthand corner for two reasons. The blue is very contrasting with the rest of the colors, and the value contrast of the greenish glowing chambers is the most drastic area in your painting. If you could somehow get those lights knocked back just a bit, or if you could soften the edges of light and dark, I think it would help.

I can definitely tell what is in front of what is in back in this piece, but I don't think it would hurt to play around with some more atmospheric perspective. The worm in the background has the same saturation as the foreground, as well as having similar value contrast.

I also think that you could either saturate the front worms head, or put some bold highlights on the bumpy scales. Snake skin is a good reference, but if that isn't the look you're going for then ignore that comment.

And the only other thing that I just noticed, is that I feel like you could extend the top and the bottom of the canvas just slightly, as I feel that your worms are crowding up to the edges...but that is such a small detail.

I hope that this is some help to you...and I hope you know that I am only giving my opinion because I really want to see this painting be the best that it can be. Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see more!

I added a baby.. finally! I didnt start painting it, coz im wondering about the position of the baby, and the whole composition of the pic.
Any suggestions, tips or something will be most welcome!
The baby and that iron piece r on a different layer that the worm is, so it wouldnt be a problem moving it and rotating it, if it would be nessesery.
Thnx!

PS: i didnt correct any previous mistakes that u all suggested me to, coz of no time :(
I'll do that as soon as possible, so dont be mad not listening to u :bounce:

hello,
all the lines of the composition leads to the baby. wich I believe is the focus of your composition? if is that right, the composition seems to be working fine at my viewpoint. very classic style of painting also! :)

Thn u guyz for stopping by!
Now I'll leave the composition as it is and start coloring the baby and stuff... and than it'll be pretty much close to the final image... i guess :bounce: right on time!

Russo: classic painting style? he he.. i hear this for the first time, although that its probably true. still donno how to make it not so classic :surprised but maybe thats a good thing... :)

thnx again!

Guyz... how do u get such a sharp lines? When I look ur pictures and than my, I find my very blury, no metter how much i try to contrast elements and get them out from the background

//edit - when i try to use smaller brushes, it gets unnatural (at 100% opacy) and when i lower the opacy, it gets blury edges. How do u paint sharp edges and lines?

Try using the lasso tool maybe, or start on a new layer and use a layer mask to eraser out hard edges. Hope this helps some. Just play around with it and you'll find what works best for you. Looks good, just keep on going!!

OK folx, thats it! My final submission...
Thats the babyfactory, where babies r being born from a giant worms tail, where they r feeding thru a giant breast inside the worm (and that breast is squized by some gigantic steel spider legs), where electro shocks stimulate hunger so babies r somehow forced to eat... and they eat something radioactivity-like (thats why they look a bit strange).
And in the back, there u can see loooooots of other babies just waiting for their turn to eat. bwahahahaha.... my sick mind :D
That would be the end. Thnx to everyone who at least take a look to my thread and especially to those who took some time and put down the feedback. I most appriciated!

Good luck to all! :)

3. the fantastic color aspect, like old masters of ilustration

4. remember me Giger world

I'm not sure they gonna show the results of public voting .

The judges have been evaluating the entries for what , two
weeks now ? We get little info of progress , as usual .
Just gotta have to wait.

There's more on this on Machinflesh 3D forum , top thread , or
one of the top ones anyways
