Hello all..
During my MSc i managed to create a programme/pluggin for autocad that simulated cityscapes in relation to light. to expand each building needed light at a paticular time of day on a paticular facade. the building wondered around untill they found there optimum position in the model space.. I am hoping to get into max scripting so that i can replicate this programme/pluggin so that we can all generate city scapes or urban landscapes as architects like to call them at the touch of a button, The good thing about these city scapes is that they will be generated at random according to specific rules implemented in the programme. This is called agent based design which is fairly new in the world of pluggins for architecture.. There will be no landscape ever generated twice. the programme would be honest to every day city development...
Heres the problem.. i am very new to max script and wondered if anyone could either point me in the right direction ie what books to buy and also is there any place specifically i should start learning max script. I have a visual basic background which i hope will be an advantage over a complete beginner...
If this goes well then i intend on creating emergent buildings so that we can start to create funky buildings at the touch of a button as well..
Does any one think that this will benefit them at all in any way because i dont want to waste time doing something if no one can use it..
Let me know what you think of the idea and please offer some feedback on ideas to put into it so i can start with a concrete base
kind regards
