03-20-2004, 07:48 AM
This is my first concept. I dont know yet if its gone a be a baby or an adult tiger.
So, as you can see, its tiger on wich I gona put a big engine like in the dragster. Maybe instead of the two rear legs I gona a put a big tire. perharps:)
Good luck to every one!
If you dont understand my english tell me
The pictures are samples that I have found on the web.
03-20-2004, 06:57 PM
I was waiting for someone to slap a big v-8 on Something
that tiger gonna have to run front leggy fast if he gots a motor on his ass.....hahahaha!
and just type dumb and we will understand you.
03-21-2004, 04:26 PM
well:) this is the beginning:)
If you have some advice, tell me.
03-23-2004, 07:02 PM
good idea !
Nothing special to mention about your start on the head, waiting for more, give us more and make us crazy with insane details
cya u soon :wavey:
03-26-2004, 07:56 AM
Litle up:) with the body and some quick test of texturing and shag hair.
waiting for some comments:) (commentaire.., iam not sur if its english lol)
I'll try to do my best:p
03-26-2004, 08:03 AM
Nice Tiger!! The shag hair test makes it look like a furry tiger doll though. Can't wait to see what you've got to post next
03-26-2004, 08:37 AM
May we have a side view please, just to make sure about proportions.
Your tiger looks really sympathic
03-26-2004, 09:33 AM
I verry much like your idea
& the beginnig of your tiger .
Verry hurry to see the tiger
with the engine inside !
03-26-2004, 07:47 PM
thx guys for your comments:)
So here, no modification, just front and side view...If you see some mistake in the proportions, tell me:)
Maybe the nose is too long no? or the head not large enought...
and the body, what do you think?
03-26-2004, 08:01 PM
it actually looks nicely balanced, refer to some web sites on tigers but you aren't really doing bad at all, and some texture and maybe bump/displace could do some for you. overall it looks great, keep it up, maybe do a rough of the mech side:wavey:
03-27-2004, 07:38 PM
But I dont really see, where can I put some displace or bump...
Don't you think the fur will be enought?? (if I succeed to find the righ tune up with shag hair  )
For the inside of the mouth, yes I gonna a use bump I think.
For the rough...i'm not really good to draw with the hand.... For the moment, everything is in my head:shrug:
03-28-2004, 04:07 PM
I have tried to afinate the texture/Fur (but not finish yet) and the shape of the head.. What do you think??
03-28-2004, 05:34 PM
It looks better, but you should change the material for the eye; it looks a little flat.
03-28-2004, 05:43 PM
yeah....i accept the last Reply, the eyes looking flat....Make something better.....that depends on your idea.... Nice anyway,Really Nice....What is the package??:applause: :applause:
03-28-2004, 05:50 PM
I found a nice picture that you can use as reference:
tiger face (http://www.tigerqbclub.com/WallPaper/TQBC_TigerFace_800.jpg)
03-29-2004, 01:37 PM
thank you for the reference, I gonna use it:thumbsup:
package:blush: ? sorry I am not sur to understand....if its the concept, for the moment, its a tiger with an engine of dragster, like in the first picture of my WIP;)
And i'm not decided yet if I put a big tire in the back or not......
03-29-2004, 02:33 PM
No man,i meant What 3d software are you using for this Challenge?sorry for disturbing.
03-29-2004, 05:06 PM
I use 3dsMAX5 and so for the fur I use ShagHair;)
03-29-2004, 05:22 PM
Hey! Looking great man but if your going for realism use that reference image that one of the users posted. Your colors are a little fictitious. I dont know how your gonna pull this idea off but i cant wait to see how you do! Keep up the good work.
04-02-2004, 07:38 PM
I have worked on the eyes:)
What do you think? not flat anymore I hope........
04-03-2004, 02:10 PM
hey, on your first post you mentioned having wheels or something in the back, you still going with that?
If you are, try thinkning about that front legs as well, might be a little unstable(i can see the tiger having a face plant.
In terms on the model, eyes look good, the model still needs detail work. Maybe a little early, the nose is bugging me, looks a little skinny or something, may need to be a little more of a "V" shape(look at the reference "Say so Long" posted
04-03-2004, 07:53 PM
It's getting better. The eyes look much more vivid and you've got rid of the flatness.
I think you should work on the colortransision where the orange fur meets the white fur. It should blend more smoothly and not be so sharp.
Also, I think the colors looks a little oversaturated. Try to use softer more natural colours (if you're going for the realistic look). His nose looks way to orange I think.
If you look at this image (another great reference) (http://nature-photography.co.uk/images/tiger_head.jpg) you can see that the tiger has black dots under his nose. I think you should try to get them in as well.
Ypu've got a good start and I think you're doing great!
04-03-2004, 08:19 PM
Hey cool, we kind of have a similar idea going. Good luck
04-03-2004, 08:42 PM
hi vince fx
the concept is ok. and the eyes are awsome now!
perhaps you tell us, why this creature exists.
i think the proportions of the face are not that ok.
here is one more reference for the profile
the ears are too small and rectangular. take a look at ct ears too!
and the "beard" has to much more impressive and spread wide.
the whole body is ok i think. only the neck is not so good. should be longer i think...
ok waiting for more!
04-04-2004, 03:27 AM
I Like the cat man its got good features. I am also working on a creature that will soon have fur. It looks like you have been working with it for a while. Ive been trying to put fur on all of my creatures lately Peace:buttrock:
04-04-2004, 06:33 PM
tgoodes--- well....for the moment, i think its gonna be a big tire.
and two little wheels on the back like the dragster, to dont flip during the acceleration (and not little wheels like a bike for kids) Your right, I have change the nose, and its better, thx.
Say so Long--- Iam not sure if I want very realistic or not.
On some picture the tigers their color are more saturate (but your right, not like mine:p )
sascha henrichs---I dont know for the story:blush: I know that makes severals things that i'am not sure lol
Yes, I have change the bear, and make the eyes a little bigger to look younger, because I dont want an adult. (but not a baby)
PSYCHON + NRG420---:p good idea for your concept:p
For the shag hair, no I havent used it really often, and never for fur like this. It was only "simple" hair on humain. Here, its the first time I us map for shag hair:) And the first time I us the unwrap. I'm happy of the result, but I gonna a try to do better and I have a lot to do
Thanks for the compliments, its encourage me to continu
If I have said something not english, tell me:p
ps I disable the smilies because he says I put too many...........
04-04-2004, 10:21 PM
NOt really sure, but maybe the nose is too long? And the cheeks needs some more shaggier hair, beef it up with more hair? And the actual cheeks itself?
Cool model
04-05-2004, 07:08 AM
-the bridge of the nose needs to pinched or/shadowed more, this will give a little more feline look and pop out the cheeks a bit as a side effect.
the ears look a little square also...
04-10-2004, 06:20 PM
This a little up:) Do you prefer this fur (for the head) or before?
And as you can see, I have started to put some texture on the body (its just some test for the moment)
And thanks all for your comments, its help me a lot;)
04-10-2004, 06:35 PM
Nice Tiger Vince, bravo j'adore !!
Peut-être lui ajouter quelques détails musculaires pour lui donner plus de poids. Les yeux sont impressionnant. Ca déchire !
Nice Tiger Vince, I love very much. Maybe try to give more details for musculature to add more weight and puissance feeling. The eyes are impressive. Really nice work !
04-11-2004, 12:11 AM
Good work man! Looks much better now. The nose is perfect, maybe his eyes are a little big, it kind of makes him look a little like a cat, I'd like to see them slughtly smaller., but on the other hand, they give him kind of a special character.
Nice work on the fur too.
04-17-2004, 03:29 PM
hello:) up for the body..I now there still some bugs for the texture and the fur... So if you have any comments for the proportions of the shape, tell me:)
For the eyes I think I gonna make them smaller later, with the morphing, for his expression (more agressive I hope)
Aurety--- Yes, I have some difficulties for the muscles... and for the shape of the foots...Besides they gonna be important at the end for my picture...
04-17-2004, 04:47 PM
Nice work.. the front leg seems too straight, it will be good to have a kink at the joint with the main body.. keep going you are there...
04-20-2004, 03:40 AM
The fur length and texture looks very good. What program are you using. I'm using the Maya Fur for my creature. When are you going to put some mechanics on that thing or are you?
Any ways looks wicked!!
04-22-2004, 09:21 AM
Thanks for the comments;)
I have start the engine....If you see any problem tell me;)
04-22-2004, 09:25 AM
So here its a "try" of the tiger +engine.
But I dont have the result I hope... even if many parts are done very quick for this test, to see what it looks like. Besides, the tiger, style in a neutral position....
What do you think?? sincerely
I'm using max and shag hair;)
04-23-2004, 06:43 PM
Your concept is original.
The tiger's eyes are very realistic and expressive.
My MachineFlesh (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=135155)
04-23-2004, 08:11 PM
Im not very "happy" for the aileron..(is it english "aileron"?)
So if you have any suggestion..even for the other stuff;)
04-24-2004, 09:04 PM
Maybe the fire and smole are a little too strong:)
04-24-2004, 10:43 PM
i think you have todo something more whit the ilumination, like indirect ilumination effects . but all is great really good concept.
04-26-2004, 10:16 AM
Year I have some troubles with the ligth because not a lot of memory:hmm:
I have to optimize it:wip:
for the landscape, I have to idea.
one- A starting race for dragster!
two- in an arena, maybe postapocalyptique, and on the side we can see some other tiger dragster fighting. maybe a white tiger too:p
and maybe a biomechanique "dompteur" (I dont know in english... the man in the circus who is with the tiger)
what do you think?????
04-28-2004, 06:14 AM
Man, this is such a cool model. It looks completely badass!! Very original too, I havn't seen anything like it in the other entries. Super original and well excecuted.
04-28-2004, 05:20 PM
thanks Ionized:) I hope the jury will think like you:drool:
what mean "badass"??
04-28-2004, 07:20 PM
Im trying to find a good frame what do you think of this one?
(landscape and lights are temporary )
of course on the left side on the back I gonna put some other tiger....but far away...
thanks for your comments
04-29-2004, 08:31 AM
To be honest, I prefer the other one you did. The letter box is good, but I think it might be too long. It doesn't give it the same sense of motion that the first one had.
Also, I kind of like the fact you can't see the eyes of the tiger in the first one also. It makes him look a lot meaner.
Its coming along really well though. I like it a lot!!
Also, I think you should keep the brighter colours of the first one.
Oh yeah, and badass can have a fe meanings but I meant it in the way that something looks really cool and extreme.
04-29-2004, 03:25 PM
What an impressive way goes here, really cool.
dragster and tiger are comin out fine.
only I miss the detailed connection between them, by the way it's a good work.
KEEP IT UP:buttrock:
04-30-2004, 06:14 PM
some new test of landscape and light and frame:)
Better or not? Do you think the fire is too strong?
Yes, for the connexion between engine and tiger I will try to do more details;)
click on the image, I have put a bigger resolution:p
05-01-2004, 01:31 PM
add the arena. some test of other color and a new fire...
05-01-2004, 08:02 PM
Now that's a tiger under the hood Vince..........A unique look into machine flesh....................I like your last compostion the best, this is the route you should take in my opinion.............You have been busy, and it's paying off, keep the good work coming.............
05-02-2004, 09:17 AM
 its the first time a big member (I mean with more than 1000 posts) answer to my post:bounce:

SO I reput my picture...........
Any comments still welcome
05-15-2004, 08:14 PM
:buttrock: Awesome job on those feet man, great work
06-11-2004, 11:53 PM
That make a while:)
Some new stuff.new smoke, etc.do you prefer or not?do you like the blood? if yes, i will put some on the body....Or if you have some advice to make it more realistic...and less ketchup.....:/
06-12-2004, 06:08 AM
 I really like the ferocity of your new post. The new smoke is very nice, showing some more detail of the tires and the added traction and dirt , to me adds to the emotion of the peice. I did like the composition of your previous pics because it (colosseum) led the veiwers eye to the tigers face, and the tiger really seemed to be addressing the viewer, and possibly if the colosseum were blurred a bit or maybe darkend, maybe so the lights are going to be focusing on the center of the arena and it will not compete with the main focus. The blood is a nice touch but I think most wet fur tends to clump so id say the blood needs to be more subtle. Also I really like the backward ears and the new facial expression but I think it almost looks like hes ready to strike so maybe if his frontal legs were in a more aggresive pose?
I know its getting down to the wire & so Im trying to be as critical as possible...... I hope it helps if even in some small way. Good luck & great work, keep it up youre almost there....
06-12-2004, 06:17 PM
thanks for your advice;)...I hope the blood is a little better?
06-15-2004, 11:18 PM
how do you like?? I keep the skelette? keep the part who get of the frame?
06-16-2004, 12:52 PM
I don't think you need to keep the skeleton, the backround also tell what happened here...
BTW...excellent work!!! Best luck for voting!!!
Mood is perfect!!!
06-16-2004, 10:58 PM

Man, I love your little tiger.... its one of my favourites and has been from the start of the comp!!! It's sometimes hard to keep track of all the threads around here, so please dont be disheartened.
Great work on your final image. The sand really helps and it's a very clean render with the effects in just the right places... guess thats why they call you VinceFX hey??? I also like how you've put his ears back... he looks very pissed off...
Seriously it is done with the scanline? The results are very good.
Well done man, good luck wiht the voting!
