View Full Version : Beast of Burden - Character - underdog
underdog 07-07-2002, 09:01 AM Ok, I really like this month's topic. Plus seeing everybodies great models so far, I have to participate. So Hopefully I will have enough time and patience to finish this.
I've been working on this for a few hours now, and is slowly coming together. Theres still a great many rough spots to fix. I'm not totally positve on what burdens he will be forced to carry yet. I have a few ideas, but still undecided. Of course crits, comments, suggestions and what-not are always welcome!
So here is the first render of my burdened beast:) I'll post more angles, wireframes, etc.. in a bit.

I'm using subdivision surfaces in Maya. The more I work with them the more I love them.

Another angle. I need to replace the feet, they aren't the final.

looks good, except that you should give this huge guy a bit more muscles on the legs. i think that he would need them. :) and if you're goin' for a mean look make the face, especially the eyes a bit more evillooking. now update update update upd......:D

Thanks for the comments guys, glad yolu like him.
derwolpertinger: I agree about he muscles. I'm looking through some references for the anatomy af similar beasts. Hopefully I'll have them worked in and more defined with the next update.
About the eye, I have done any real work on it yet. I don't want to make him look evil, or particulary violent. We''l see where it goes..
Updates soon...

wow underdog, you make the smoothest and cleanest meshes i have seen. Even in your avatar, if you made that one, which you probably did.
thats a really cool character, i hope to see him coming along more in the near future.
