That was some of the worst cg I have seen in a while. This makes Spy Kids look like Jurassic park! Really I mean with such a compelling story they should have got a better cg team.
Can't really tell about the CG from the trailer. It's all so short. The cinematography looks kick ass tho. I'm gonna go see it. Is there any historical figure like Van Helsing or is it all Hollywood?
And to go completely off topic, I saw the trailer for the Alamo yesterday. That looks awesome. But Billy Bob Thorton?

Not Hollywood, more like Japan (http://www.vampirehunterdbloodlust.com/) .

don't know about the accuracy, but the brief scan I did fit in with what I thought I'd read/heard

Van Helsing is a Bram Stocker character from the book Dracula. Anthony Hopkins played the character in the 1980 version of it (with gary oldman and keanu reeves).

It was no worse than some of the artwork posted here that gets pages and pages of "that roxors :buttrock: " posts.

It still looks kinda korny to me, but I'm going to see it anyway. I love stupidity. I find it appealing.

Maybe so, but a lot of the artwork here didn't have several VFX houses, hundreds of artists and millions of dollars behind them. It's all relative.

And yet NONE of the images posted here have one person telling the artist it is crap.
Studios always have the marketing a$$clowns pushing to hurrry shots for trailers. Look at the Time Machine trailer. They used previs shots in it until release.

Oh you can be sure I'll lay the truth down on anyone on these boards. That's why I get so many love letters and posts.
There are in fact lots of temp comps in trailers, but VFX companies are paid extra money by the studios to push shots forward for the trailers, so blame them for taking the extra money too.

The artists do the best job they can with what they have (ressources and time).
