Here's my concept...It's a rough idea but I'll model in the details. The tail end is mechanical and grappled to the rib structure. The head is still skined and the skin is held on by hooks.

Im adding the mechanical devices that will deliver the hydrolic fluid to the tail.

Sean,

Is that a "feng giblet" in the upper left corner of the concept? Never noticed it before. The model's progressing well. In my opinion, I think the textures will play the biggest part in this model and will be its major selling point. Have you thought about an environment? Not that the challenge requires one... but still.

I look forward to viewing the finished product. Grind away.

Heres a closer view of the setup at the base of the tail... The tank in the middle holds the hydrolic fluid.

Theres been a change of plans in the concept...I decided to make more of a sea-dragon rather than a fish....

I was thinking of how to show-off the fish when its done...

That a 2d background? Going for a 3d meets 2d kind of thing?

The pose for the fish looks good. That setup would work as a presentation piece.

The fish looks happy... not evil, like in the concept. Maybe work more on the upper eye area. Also, it needs nasty, big, pointy teeth.
