Just a test to try out a postprocessing method plus this freeware model i didnt make. I like the outcome so i decide to post it. rendered with celshading, a couple of lights and radiosity(In Lightwave7.5). im not a fan of mecha's but it rendered quite nicely dont you think? :)

second one is not rendered with either radiosity nor celshading, but i worked harder to get the perfect metal surface :)

Amazing work. Very detailed. I like the second one, the first one looks like that graphics used to explain how a mechanic part works: to schematic. I'm sorry, my english itsn't very good and it's hard for me to explain what I mean.
I love the model, really cool model, very complicated.

almost everything is pure lightwave, i only used photoshop to enhance the lighter parts using this technique: http://www.lwhub.com/rendertrick/index.html
but the white in the lower picture was all corona in lightwave, probably took the longest time to render in the picture.

i'll see if i can upload that preset somewhere, i really like it.

the model itself wouldnt be too hard to make with proper reference, but im too lazy to imitate someone elses work(especially when they have already been made available). perhaps the irony is that just cause i dont want to imitate someone elses work i really do imitate someone elses work, by using someone elses model; but im sure "someone else" wont mind in this case :)
