My very first concept sketch.. yes, I'm aware of how horrible it looks. I scratched this out with an erasable pen during work while trying to get ideas.

This was just a beginning character design to see how well I could draw a horse.. I actually did this a few weeks ago (during work, again) but I hadn't gotten to uploading until now. I have a few more concept sketches to put up, and I've gotten a little better, but comments are much appreciated. ^_^

Maybe you should explain your concept, i think it will be a mechanical unicorn but i ain't sure :S

Also, try to make up some stories with the idea of a mechanical unicorn, that will give you some ideas and can also help to improve your concept.
For example maybe unicorns do exist but are they actually mechanically enhanced horses created by a race of prankster alien.

Just wildly suggesting around here :p

Here's another sketch of mine, I think it turned out a lot better than the previous two. ^_^

Thank you, Jawine, for helping me out and stuff.. Basically, my concept is a cyborg-horse.. The story that I've come up with for him is that he was a sort of family pet that was attacked by a large predator like a bear or a cougar, and a futuristic veterinary procedure has made him what he is now. All of the horns and spines are actually going to be retractable in some way, to prevent the accidental impaling of family members.. lol. But basically, he's still a beloved pet. I think that in the final work I'm going to have him with the children in some way.. I haven't decided yet.

He's so cute!

Is he going to have a unicorn horn in the end or no?

Here's a colored drawing of my cyborg-horse.. I was just messing around in photoshop trying to decide what colors I would use. I'm thinking that I'm going to make him a type of draft horse, a Shire or a Belgian, probably.

Actually, I really do like the unicorn horn, so I think I'll keep it. I don't think he would look as good without it. ^_^ Thank you.
