I'm hoping to actually be able to finish this one without getting disgusted and scrapping the project.

This is my first concept. I was not going for any functionality on this one, just going to do an artsy type of thing. He was to be hooked up to something as of yet undecided.

I may change my mind yet. I'm taking my time and making a really great concept. Think of this as a brainstorming session.

Edit: The sketch was an excercise I did from a book. I put some tracing paper over the sketch to get some of the mechanical ideas. This pose gave me the notion to do a more abstract piece than practical. Most of my ideas were not working out in my head...never mind on paper.:wavey:

Seems my last entry wasn't too impressive to say the least. Here is a new idea I came up with. I have a story in mind for background. I'll write it up tomorrow.

Anyway, I really dig this sketch...it was fun combining the wolf and human muscle structures.

Edit: The colors are just for seperation...10 minute job.:wip:

thats a sweet wolf man. Is he going to have hair? I like that idea of the metal muscles mixed in with the regular organic ones. Good job man. Maybe do something with the abdomen, it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the mechanics.

Looking forward to updates.:buttrock: :buttrock:

I like the wolfman more (not that the other one is not amazing)..
I think it's more original.. mixing animal and technologie.

I like the concept.. it makes me think of somekinda dark warrior. A warewolf with his abilities enhanced. Great job !

Yep, the wolf has a much more "unique" aspect to it.
Good luck, man. ;)

Well, I've started the head. I'm mixing bits and pieces from dogs and wolves. I never realized the differences in both until this contest.

About an hour so far...lots to gooooooo!!!

Edit: Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm way out of my league here, but I will give it my best shot. Modeling creatures and humans is what I'm best at...I might actually have a shot...heh.

Started roughing the body out. I'm trying a couple of new modeling methods out. Going to try and build the whole model to get proportions and then detail it...maybe that will work.

Ok. I played around a little bit more with the mesh. Worked on the back and front and also made the pipe holders on the chest. They are currently seperate object.

BTW: THanks for the replies on this thread so far. It's nice to know I have a worthy entry...:buttrock:

depleteD: I'm thinking of doing hair, but not sure how I'm going to impliment it as of yet. When I had an edu license I had Shag, but now I'm commercial and alas, can't afford shag...I'll probably use splines because my texturing is not that hot.

Artistic and DpV...you guys find out about this through the Buzz post? Thanks for stopping by.

Awesome start dude...really great concept. The joints in the left elbow are my fav part..they're just so well integrated..like they're meant to be there.

Maybe do something with the abdomen, it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the mechanics.

Yep, I agree with that. Do something with the abdomen. Maybe make wires attached to the leg muscles to give it a more integrated look.

when in doubt, add wires :buttrock:

I really like the concept. Also the name is catchey. Definitely show a moon(s) in your final render or better yet - he is on the moon. Maybe could show interim stage as cyborg man is transformed into werewolf-mech.

I will be watching your thread. Good luck!

Yep. I've also entered the 3D Challenge as well; should be coming up with some concepts over the next few days (my thread is here (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=131692)).

great concept. model is coming along. You might want to detail out the flesh a little more before you add wires and details.
