Did some brain storming last night and I decided that my entry is going to be a post nuclear apocolypse version of Pinocchio. Basically the whole world was destroyed by man, and now the only things left to continue living on the planet are the machines left over and a small population of humans. The character Im doing is a left over butler/child droid, that stumbles across the story of Pinocchio and decides he too wishes to be a real boy, but the only means he can concieve of doing so is to take/harvest the organs and body parts of humans, in a way mix matching the limited pieces he can find, and integrating them into his own hardware and circuts to keep them alive. I plan to have him talking to jimminy, a small cricket robot and have the two of them looking at a tattered and beaten copy of a book of the disney version pinocchio. One twist id like to add, is a large clunky arm/mast like a crane growing out of is back with a human hand grafted to the top with a puppet tree/maniquet held there, and then tendons and wire descending to the puppet, so he his own master and prision. Drew some quick sketches, but i hate working from 2d, id rather jump straight to 3d, but for the purpose of the contest ill post them.
hope you like the concept and keep checking back for updates

EXCELLENT!

Everything looks great! I love the style, and this very original concept make a good team.

What modeling process are you using (SubDiv, Spline, Nurbs) and what program is that? Looks like Maya maybe?

thanks again for the kind words,
this is being done in maya 4.5, and im just using good old fashion box modeling techniques on this one. Ha ha ha, yeah i dig how the renders came out to, kinda has a teracota clay look to it.

yeah dreadling... i really like you style.... and sweet character concept...one thing though i see you have alot of soft edges=subd level... you should go i and add a second group of edges to the edge loops you already have this way you will get hard edges ... if you would like me to explain this i little better PM me.... keep up the good work.. cheers

Sorry its taken me so dang long to update the work pic, I have been crackin away, just so busy I havent had a chance to post. Got alot of work done on the body and features, want to flesh out the hands up top, and add "live wires" running from torso to body parts. This was pretty much a test to see what the character looked like in renders, the final will be seated.
Enjoy
