A start. Don't think I'm sticking with it though since upon completing these doodles I came up with a better idea along the lines of a firefighter. Following similar apearance, but obviously requiring different enhancements.

yes I agree. I'm trying to figure out what the best type of movement is for the given task. In this task, Mining, I tried several solutions from biped, to dozer tracks, to wheels and so on. Eventually I figured more of an insect would be the way to go, hence the spider type legs. Now that I'm changing more to a firefighter, I'm not certain if a biped will be better or should I find a different solution. I figure something that would allow this person to walk through fire and withstand great heat (robotic sheilded steel as a thought), as well as offer high mobility in tough situations. Things to ponder. If anyone has ideas please post them.

Got away from the miner design to a firefighter. I found this idea more interesting to work with. My drawing skills are highly rusty but you get the idea.

Falling behind on things, wanted to have my modelling started already. Problem is you people keep giving me ideas to develop my concept further and I'm drawing up a storm only not getting anywhere past it :p I'll look to have the concept complete within a day or so, but from the previous post I've altered the legs to be normal human legs with plated exoskeleton boots. This resolved my legs issue, since I was never happy with them. The water cannon will be alot more robust but I doubt that will change much until modelling on it begins. Working on a better, more body integrated solution to the O2 backpack, perhaps a rebreather cannister wrapped around the head or something. The right arm will return to flesh with an exoskeleton to assist in strength and fire resistance. Once things for certain I need to get crackin!!! :wip:

Well, the idead sounds good to me. this is not a silly joke, even if it souds like it, it just came in my mind when i looked at his tiny feet and i thought of the pressure a water canon has: what about giving him a 3rd legg, so he'll have more ballance, and also, it would be a logical enhancement.
I could also imagine him having an axe-/saw-/multitoolhand, and highsensitive multisensors to find living ppl or dangerous substances fast, also rotors, or any sort of engine that makes him reach places where human firemen couldn't reach... go for your idea, I like it aa lot! Get rockin' mate  :buttrock:
