Comments welcome. I'm not sure how original this is but it should be fun.

Here is were I'm at now. Having a little issue with the nose and forehead but I will smooth that out. I might even add a laser unit under the chin too.

Here is my mock up for my ReconDolphin.

I love your concept.
I think you should go with re-breather option #2, it's more integrated and permanent.
Also, I think the blow-hole to rebreather needs a little more development. Check out scuba regulators. There should be a valve or something where it plugs in to the blow hole so water that was swallowed can be expelled.
Anyway, just some suggestions. I look forward to seeing your completed character. Looks like you gotten on a fast start.

Thanks for the input Tibruon3D. I think your right about the re-breather. The first one looks a little too Johnny Quest'ish.
I will look into the blow hole thing, you have a very good point.

Hey that's a cool idea, this one's going to be fun to watch. Your concept sketch brought to mind Dr. Evil from Austin Powers movies. " I just want some frickin sharks with frickin lasers on their heads!" :)

I have been on travel for the last week so I didn't get much time to work on this. Here is the start of the rebreather, I still need to work out the regulator details and detailing the rebreathers themselves.

Here is the wire frame of it.

U might wanna slowly deviate a little from the obvious form of the dolphin... maybe it's texturing, maybe strongly physical.
I know it's too early to critique, but just a thought...

ajitmenon, are you suggesting that I use more mech stuff than dolphin? Mech tail ect...?

I was thinking sort of in terms of form... right now your design flows beautifully with the remaining form of the dolphin.
Maybe a sharp deviation in form at some points will generate mixed feelings.. "is it a dolphin? is it mechanoid?"
Just a bit of confusion to attract more interest.
I'm being kinda vague myself... just trying to poke a little more thought than a relatively direct interpretation of a dolphin cross-bred with technology.

I added the speakers for the translation device and the ocular implant on the left eye.

I haven't had much time the last few weeks to work on this but I got some textures going for the metal parts. I also added the blow hole regulator. It still needs work. I also have put in some rivets where the machine parts are installed. Lot's more to go but it's moving along.
