More amazing by the hour..love it. I will second the thing about the barrel smoothing tho. Also, not sure what's going on with the strap the BoB is holding, and she's holding on the end..is this an intelligent beast, they work together? is he going to be carrying more stuff under there? Just can't riddle out how that works..
Other than that..keep rockin. :xtreme:

Great Model. I love the details on him. One of the better models here.
I dare say you've come a long way in the last year. (I still remember some of your early posts ;) ).
I do however have a problem with his balance.
He looks like he's either gonna pounce or tip over.
It doesn't look like a pose he could kepp for very long.
That's some high details!!! welldone.... And you work very fast.....
I like the tail idea :) :buttrock:

wow so many replis:) ive to thanks everyone for the motivating words:)
il try to ask to the questions:
hypercube "(containers? fruit?)" it is fruits, not any "known" fruit.. i made that up
gabe, about the barrel.. yes.. i tried to fix it a bit now.
kira "software?" maya4
hypercube "not sure what's going on with the strap the BoB is holding, and she's holding on the end..is this an intelligent beast, they work together? is he going to be carrying more stuff under there? Just can't riddle out how that works.. " they work as a team (this can get a little away from the guidelines but lets think he knows that he haves to do that not by force), notice the pets, little lizards, are totally free there too.. i could put them inside.. but i rather not.
sherban "problem with his balance." yes he is in "starting motion" or in eminence to move, if it doesnt give that idea.. is my bad:/ ill try to bone it and run a very simple animation.. ill try.. but cant promisse it will work.. im not that good at animation.
for everyone else as i said, thank u for the kind workd again.
today didnt worked much on it but theres a new renders:

Looks really great innervortex, congrats :)
In my book this is the winner so far. Excellent modelling skills - good eye for detail and overall a nice idea.
Particularly the alphatron render (whatever that is ) looks amazing.
As this looks like some desert creature to me, I think some surrounding shrubs, bushes, rocks would fit in just perfectly. (just an idea).
At this pace are you gonna texture/animate ???
You do know it's only been a week right...!?!?
I mean - bloody hell! I'd be stunned if this was produced at the end of the challenge
Truely excellent.
(I think everyone's in going to be in fear on how far you'll take this at the end!) eep!

it was the easy part for me.. the modeling.. and i loved to do it, coulnt stop for 3 days.. now the modeling part is close to done, im tring to rig it for animation, and that will sure take long cose im still learning to rig/animate.. and cant really tell if im goint to be success, just can promise that im trying my best;9 ill think on texturing it.. wel when i finish animation .. or..if dont do any animation at all.. then i might try for a still, anyways is a pleasure just to try:D :bounce:
edit: well.. im doing it fast cose i REALLY dont have nothing more to do, hollydays R0x!! i believe most of u dont have all that free time.
Clockwork
07-10-2002, 08:13 PM
Egawd! That beats out half of the meshes I've EVER seen! Just one crit, I can't help but think the beast had a much more enjoyable time carrying all that stuff when the driver was still naked. Just a thought, (Plus it kinda had a "Heavy Metal"isque feel to it...
That's an awesome, awesome piece of work. I don't know how much more you can realistically do to improve that piece of work w/ the remaining time, but I'm sure you'll find ways to amaze. That's simply eye-candy.
Could you perhaps post a wireframe please?
wlau
I too get that "heavy metal" mixed with some Bill Fleming creature workshop stuff feeling. Well since it´s neither I´d still have to say that it´s a stunning piece of work.
InnerVortex
07-11-2002, 03:39 PM
thanks guys;) ive been working on setuping it for anim. so theres an action pose!! i cant stil promise any animation.. just trying;)
http://cg.no.sapo.pt/fight/fgp1.jpg
and a wire one, with all ik handles and stuff.. can some on help me with it? like tips.. it u see something really wrong with that k?
http://cg.no.sapo.pt/fight/bobwire.jpg
greets
Fantastic.
The rigging seems ok to me. I think that you should make the beasts head strecth more out from the body, like it´s really struggling to carry on - make the front legs pull more in the thing it´s holding. Not that there´s anything wrong with the look of it, but I think the beast looks a little bit too relaxed considering the weight of the cargo.
Pretty damn impressive work though, really looking forward to updates and more hdri renderings.

nice work...at this rate you could build a whole empire...lol..looking really great!

07-11-2002, 07:16 PM
Do you have some sort of rigging for the pods on the side, so they sway and knock each other, the mesh is a tad to dense for me to tell... unbelievable work man, I would love to see a short animation, if you have the render time, just a quick walk cycle!

Wow that new server is really fast. I got that baby @ 624KB/s
I like the animation. The blinking eyes is a good deal, and the way you have the woman pet the beast kind of shows the 'teamwork' aspect you mentioned earlier.

im using a mix, well.. im trying diferent stuff.. faking gi with maya default render and finalgather with mentalray, the pink one, the "action" pose and the blue with a litle orange(HDRI one) are in mentalray, the rest is default maya with pinky skydome.. i even used lights emitiong shadow only to try to sim it, but it was in raytrace and took even more time to render:p

I guess you know that you can get all your info on the drive back. What happend to you drive was a mecanical faliure. Th original drive will never start again, but there are companies that restore chrashed drives. In you case they would do it by taking the dics out of your old drive and put them in a new drive...it is as easy as that, no magic, but it can´t be done at home.
Expensive tough, I think about 500 to 1000USD
InnerVortex
07-23-2002, 12:57 PM
i wish i can do that kind of stuff at home, there is no way ill get that money in a near future;) thanks for the information, i didnt have a clue that this is near to possible.
