Hi,
Hmmm... I'm thinking about what to model for this challenge... ?
Well an idea pop out, here it is:
To work in mines is very hard and also very dangerous, not to mention if it's a coal or lead mine is very noxious too, so I thought to make a cheep and effective work power for mines ;)
Raw material... hmmm... let's see... yap, maybe sounds creepy but I think it's a good idea... how about death people?
Yes, death people with an adequate electro-mechanic apparatus to keep their musculature and senses alive are an answer to our question.
They don't eat, they don't sleep, they work and work continuous.
Only an energy source is needed to keep the mechanism in function, let's say some kind a battery or something.
OK, I hope I explained very clearly what I'm going to do.
Sketches will come soon as I draw something.
Stay toned, and C&C's are very welcomed.
Cheers.
P.S. Adds to my thoughts is welcomed too ;)

It's really not bad idea.
I had one that was something like yours. (Sory for my bad english, I hope you understand something)
One futuristic solder, full with implants and addition Ai is death. No one knows where he is, but he had one very important mission, and should not to die. As next goes his Aiimplant on, and try to move guards body forward. To do this task connected Ai to some robotics in his proximity and upgradet his body with some helpfull mechanical additons.
And now walk this funny zombie to do his task.
What you thing about?:bounce:

Climbazise, thanks and yes I understand your english ( it's not as bad as you think ;) ). You know... neither mine is not better.
About those soldiers... hmmm... that's OK, he don't die in battle because he is already death :)
Now, about my entry... well let see... tomorow I will get my graphic tablet and I will start to sketch a basic concept of my mine worker ;)
Cheers.

Newty,
I dig the idea, it's like a resurrection machine, something to give life to the dead - like mech zombies.
I like the idea of the dead being exploited by huge companies to work in uninhabitable environments.
Look forward to seeing updates,
-Kol.

Hi,
Here’s a little sketch of the mineworker of the future.
He’s death and still able to work in hard conditions.
Thanks to the new technology his tissues are functionally.
He’s not drinking, eating, sleeping, only working…
The only consumable source what he consume is a… battery :)
I’m not very good at sketch, and that why is so simple, so, any C&C’s are welcomed to improve my worker ;)
The improvements will be made direct on the 3D model.
Thanks.

And a very basic design of the apparatus what keeps him alive (mounted on his back).

:)
"mineworker of the future"
Be careful using this Definition...
have a look to the last post
i think someone is already working on a subject like yours but not using the same design.
topic there (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=130299&perpage=15&highlight=mine%20pneumatic&pagenumber=1)
i wouldn't like to disturb you,
it's just an advice.
By the way good luck for the contest.

Harnelbe, thanks mate for the admonition.
I didn’t know about that threat, hmmm… what we could do?
I think that will be no problem if I continue my idea, even if there are two similar themes, the modeling and the concept are different, so I think this is accepted.
If there is a problem, please someone tell me and I will change my theme (I will search for another one). I don’t want to leave the impression that I want to copy someone’s idea.
Thanks.

Hey Im not trying to be foul or anything, but I noticed that you posted your idea after you went to my entry, I feel you are trying to copy my idea, maybe not the design but the concept.

Vsions, I'm not trying to copy you.
Maybe the concepts are similar but the designs are different.
So I think there's no problem if the concepts are a little on-coming in thoughts.
There are already tree of us using this concept (mine worker), so I think that will count only the design because there are a lot of contestants and its hard to found a concept that not match with the concept of the other 2124 entries...
Cheers, and good modeling.

Hey el_newty
I looked at your concept designs and was wondering if you had thought about using your character to control your mine work force in some way.
Or perhaps he was hooked up to loads of metal machines that do all the work for him, or all the tools, crane arms and mine collecting the reconstruction gear is attached to him.
Unless of course you want to get away from the mine idea all together then forget the above. :D
Who cares if the idea has already been done just add your own twist

I would do a more detailed concept drawing. Thee one above doesnt seem too dynamic
