Well I have been watching alot of monster garage and american choppers on the discovery channel lately and I really wanna build my own chopper, but I'm not to good at welding, so I thought maybe I could build a crazy motorcycle in 3d. So for this challenge I think I may build it out of a woman....kinda sick...maybe it's a bit too over the top,I don't know...I don't want to offend anyone...so let me know if I should go forward with building this bike...comments would be great
cheers and good luck to everyone!

Nice idea, but the concept looks kinda simmilar to something stahlberg did. the woman/bike thing is original tho.

I think a way to make this work is to show the drawbacks, maybe make it a 'vintage' motorbike, an old lady rather than the usual cliched woman.
Maybe have her teeth knocked out from all the gravel... Or her breasts aren't as pert as when she was built and have taken a few knocks.

I think the idea is perfect for this challenge. Perhaps add more of an organic shape to the fenders, set, etc. I can’t wait to see more. Keep it up.

Oh man... I usually try to avoid AOL-isms, but: ROFLMAO!
Jeez, the concept was twisted enough from the start, but that just makes it waaaaay out there.
Go for it, Michael :scream: :surprised

Its the placement and shape of the leg and foot which makes the sketch resemble Stahlberg's work.
Try shaping it a little differently, or maybe blending it into the machine a little more intimatly.

nice drawing.. but the concept is kinda old.
i have seen drawings similar to this one by h. r. giger(you know, the alien guy)
and renderings and/or drawings by several japanese mangaka.
sorry but not very original.

Oh my... a whole can of worms.
The 'lying down bike' idea isnt a new one, nore was it 1st thought up by Giger. (Im assuming thats Giger...).
Chances are it is going to see ALOT of incarnations before its completley dried up!!
That said...I would make it a guy, seeing as a girl is rather done. (The Stahlberg image is quite a well known one in the CG industry...)
Or dont make it a human....make it an animal.....or alien...or a tree. OK-Maybe not a tree.... :)

I immediately thought of the those images when I saw the sketch.
I remembered both the 3D version and the 2D painting above.
You are going to have to do something very original to make this old concept unique.

I agree with pyke. A new variation of the 'Girl on Bike' concept isn't a bad idea. Just do it skillfully and add some unique contribution to the subject (Think about how many Borg inspired concepts will be submitted to this contest)
P.S. I was always amused at the idea of where the exhaust would come out of in the Justin Kaufman (It does kind of look like Giger) bike image.

Pyke is right! This is not Giger btw and i have seen at least 4 diferent ilustrators using the same concept and i don't think that it's wrong to give it a try. Go for it!!!!

My suggestion if you want to avoid controversy or possible issues at a later date would be to find another idea. No offense but your idea is obviously unoriginal and only stacks the deck against your chances of impressing somebody.

Nice concepts Michael,
You already have a head start with the concept and you dont have to worry much about modelling it now. Just tweak it a little or you could go for Steve's idea... make it an old beaten up granny on a bike would look awesome..
best of luck

Sorry for my hard critique
It isn't giger, I supposed this at first time. Than I searched a bit to finde out what wrong was...
So, and then I founded this one: http://www.hrgiger.com/images/foun11.jpg
But it wasn't, 5 min latter I rememberd what it was, it was an pic from the conceptart.com.
For me it's not important what do you do with this picture, I think the the idea must be not whole original, but this sketch was 1:1 copy of the original. And it is too mach. :wip:
My suggestion is, that you just try to do your sketch one more time.

Well thanks for all the replys guys!! I have seen Stahlberg's work of the girl "on the bike" but it is just that...a girl riding a futuristic motorcycle...mine will be a bike made primarily from a woman....but i have to say after seeing the image Climbazise posted...I can see my idea is not original....so I may have to rethink it a bit...that picture rocks Climbazise where did you find that? Do you know who made that image? It would be sweet to see that built in 3d...but you guys are right, I don't want my image to look like someone elses drawing, so anyway maybe I will take some of Pyke's suggestion and redraw the concept using a tourtured fat man and call it "The Hog"....for the final 3d piece I want the bike and the being that it is made from to interweave....flesh to metal....metal to flesh....so let me know if you guys think it would be better to redo the concept with a fat man or just go with the one I have and make it and put the bezerker spin on the apparently not so original "girl bike" thanks I really appreciate all of you comments and feedback.
Cheers:beer:

Oh dada da hahaha, yes, the thing with "ideas" starts again.
Well, if u wanna work with a girl-byke fusion, why not makin a monster of a bike, some straight outa hell thingy with a really fancy design... if she really is a part of the bike, make her logical "mechanical strong enough" to be the part of it she's meant to be... to give her cyber parts offers you new possebileties anyways. hehe, don't worry, 3 month are much time to get clear with ideas

alrighty, well, here is a revised concept sketch...still much to work out...such as steering etc...but...I am sleepy and must go to bed now...I think this may be the concept sketch i go with...as I am getting impatient and want to start modeling..ha...well anyway feedback would be great as always...talk to you guys tomorrow!

any thoughts on this sketch guys?

Well, I understand you're hurried to start modeling, but I really think you should take time to develop more your concept.
Like: why would be this body part of a motorcycle? What's the purpose? Who's controlling it: the lifeform, the machine or a third?
I think that by knowing more about this points, the design'll come out more easily.
Maybe your character could be some kind of crazy taxi who merged with her vehicle in order to make a pile more easily or something?
Take a deep breath and think about what will make this weird vehicle unique.:lightbulb
Bon courage et bonne chance !

Hey there Bezerker75..............I see you are in the mood to do a bike.....And I think you should stick with it,it's what you feel like doing, that's what's most important.......The Hog sure fits the theme......That's flesh mixed with machine to the Max....Very surreal, very original in it's own right.Everything can be similar to something out there. We all have our inspirations..........:) .................I see tons of chicks, tons of trolls, tons of cars, but to each his own, this Hog is bezerker's,Stahlberg's is his,at least that's my take.
I think your HOG is quite unique in it's own right.....................Same theme as another one or two out there. But still your own.Maybe the "Hog" is Stahlberg's girl biker's boy friend..................Anyway it's quite an intense piece.I for one think it gets two thumbs up......Stylish...............
EDIT:........................Just wanted to add a word that comes to mind when I see your creation................"WICKED"

Well I have been giving a lot of thought to everyones feedback and suggestions. So here is the story:
In a paralell reality to that which we are living exists a different reality, one of dark torment. It is a reality in which evil has prevailed against that of good...The good of mankind was over thrown by it's lack of consideration for the seven deadly sins:
1)Pride: mankind became excessive its belief in their own abilities, and it interfered with the their recognition of the grace of God. It was the sin from which all others arose. Pride is also known as Vanity.
2)Envy: Mankind desired that of others'; traits, status, abilities, or situations.
3)Greed: their desire grew stronger for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual.
4)Lust: their inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body grew to over whelming proportions.
5)Anger/wrath: was manifested in mankind who were spurned by love and thus opted instead for fury.
6)Gluttony: they gained inordinate desire to consume more than that which they required.
7)and Sloth: as their habits grew worse so did their care for labor worsen, they became sluggish, and lazy.
The spirit world began to stur. Deamons began to push through the barrier of good. With each ill deed a new evil soul pushed itself onto earth. Mankind was unaware that this was happening and an evil empire was forged. An army of darkness ravaged the earth. Mankind was soon overthrown by this evil emipre and forced into slavery. The deamons showed no mercy, and used all they could of the humans and their technology. It was the first victory for the dark empire. The chance they had been waiting for for thousands of centuries. It was the begining of the Second Holy War!
The deamons used mankind to create machines for the Holy battle which would take place on earth. It would be an epic battle of good verses evil...heaven verses hell.
The deamons realized humans were quite abundant, and proved to be a great resource for building materials. they used human bodies as parts to create vehicles, and weapons. And knowing that mankind was created in God's image, the deamons devised ways to harness the souls of the humans to produce weapons that rivaled the strenght of the Heavens...the wepon of "Humonic Soulange"....
I could keep on going, but you get the idea! So, I will be using a variation of my concept drawings to recreate a scene depicting a "flesh machine" decked out with a "Humonic Soulange"...hope you enjoy and don't think i am too sick!! hahaha!
Cheers

:hmm: ,
if you want to be "original" inthis one, perhaps you should try to insert some history, world of life into it. Maybe like why this gal should be a bike ? maybe as a living ? a public transport like a cab.......with a twist :D giving extra pleasure to passenger ? Maybe as a punishemnt or an act of slavery ?
I mean, don't just create for the sake of the art, maybe the originality comes from the real life context: social problems ? psychological ? etc.

imscifi: thanks for the nice words..I live in chester county out near downingtown....but I am very familiar with Glenside, As I went to school at Beaver College now Arcadia University....I work in conshohocken...so we are practically neighbors!
raiyan: I have decided that I am not going to use the woman Idea...instead I will use a man who has commited all seven deadly sins....his acts in this alternate reality have condemed him to an existence of eternal damnation and tourture. Each of his deadly sins will be evident as I begin to build his "Machine flesh" it will most likely not be a motorcycle that his form will take but more likely some sort of flying machine. as it seems a few others contestants have decided to make woman bikes...so I will strive to make this more unique and hopefully his punishment will become more apparent as I begin detailing the model....Also he will be carrying the "Humonic Soulange" weapon...so stay tuned for the evil... Thanks for all your comments, It helps to push the envelope, and inspires me to do this challenge...
cheers:beer:

I'm liking this new concept a lot more... the pose looks really great, but the neck is too long. I guess you could put it down to the deformities suffered, but if you want to go for realism it looks a little bit strange. I really love the pose as it is though... just pointing it out in case you hadn't intended it to be like that.

I guess the challenge topic inspires more evil than anything else. My character is a villain set in a dramatic scene, I couldn't come up with something positive either.
I love the cow-machine thread though. I hope more funny ideas come up in this challenge
looks like you're on to a good start in the modeling

You might want to elongate and taper the back of the skull to make it more closely resemble the shape of a motorcycles gas tank.
