But IMO the mechanical "parts" seem to overwhelm a bit the character... Isn't it supposed to be a character enhanced with machine ?
A kind of symbiosis between an organic lifeform and a machine ?

Well, it's just my opinion though :)

this just the arm that the alien can receive. The number of fingers is not the same. It doesn't matter.

I like your 1st concept a bit more than the latest "reassembled" body.

that big frame would look really sweet in 3D. I'd like to learn the backstory on this character!

is the heavy frame an autonomous droid that picks up severely injured crewmembers and integrates them into itself as a means of life support until the crewmember's body heals or is repaired?

just a thought that meandered through my mind looking at your posts..love it!

you've got a very accurated analysis !

Yes, this big droïd (ISWD= individual survival War Device) allow injured soldiers to survive for two or three days in purpose to go on the fight !

In this case, the alien space vehicule "Lehinaa" be touched by a missile and crashed near the battlefield.
The doctors in charge to fix injured soldiers on ISWD, saw the crash and found the very injured alien. They tried to help him because is not his war. They fixed him on a ISWD and waited the time to repaire his body. But the alien awoke before and killed the doctors. He didn't understand the intention of humans.
And the ISWD, the last chance for him became his last prison.

The last sketch is the final body restoration but he stop all before.

I know and can't win in this challenge. Face to professionnal man with decennies of works.
So I interest to the story.
I'am going on to think the way to tell the story of this alien and human intention only in the background of the image.
The spectator must investigate and ask good questions to read the story or discover the story.
I think i will write this story and put it in a thread at CGnetwork.

Nice concept but I prefer the style of your subspace vehicule ( more organic ) why not integrate a litlle bit of this design in your character? this can be a good thing I think and this will be keep you away from the Matrix look.

Yes, i think i begin by the ISWD (The big exo-skeleton). I must more design it piece by piece. i love construct ! i love lego !! :p
and after i do the Alien and his legs.
And the rest of the background : Crashed shuttle, weapon, surgery place, cybernetic arm and others. i must choose their placement too.
Of course, with a lot of texture to do !! :cry:
I think i composite the 3D with a retouched photography. i will test all of that.

There is no texture on this legs. But after it will be.
Some oxyded and rusty metal texture on it. :buttrock:
it's not the first use of this ISWD. It must be more worn by the fighting.
And, naturally, the alien and his leg are bleeding.
He goes to die.

Non, la texture n'est pas définitive. Je vais plus la travailler.
J'ai traité une teinte de vert mais je pense aller plus vers du gris.
Il me reste quelques traces de coups et d'usure plus un peu de crasse à rajouter.
Pour donner un coté utilisé pacequ'il en aura d'autres sur un présentoire mais plus propre. :thumbsup:

No, the texture is not definitive. I'll work more on it.
I worked on a green hue but i think i'll go to grey hue.
It left some kind of roast and dirt to do, to have a used look because it will be other on a display stand but more clean. :thumbsup:
