Here's my initial ideas and first sketches.
http://www.geocities.com/emysfit/boywhowantedtofly.txt
The boy who wanted to fly. Either he wanted to fly so bad that he fused wings to his pelvis and shoulder blade. Or he stole a plane and the government did it to torture him because it doesn't actually work well...havn't really decided, but I think I might do this idea in the 2d contest, still not sure.

Brain Operated War Machine. Brain Scientist found a way to bring dead brains back to life. So they put them to use by using them to control thier newest war machines. I was thinking this would probably be the best for the 3d challenge.

Kind of a fantasish idea. A knight had his arm cut off in battle, but a scientist fused it back on, and it somehow worked. He got caught up in the idea and had him fuse armor to all different parts of his body. Making him the Armored Knight. This would probably be harder than the other ones, and I don't much like the design so I'd redesign it a little. Some armor plates will be part of the body some wont.his right arm from the elbow down is completely mechanical making it easy to control his large sword...
That's it for now, it'd be cool if I could get some feedback on which one to do for the 3d contest. Im kind of undecided as of now.

Just from my initial reaction to he sketches I like the middle one, the brain war machine. But they all have good potential.

I like the first idea, and the last idea alot. For the first, maybe you can give it a tragic story like the story of that guy from the myth who wants to fly, and his son flew towards the sun and died thing? With a machine flesh twist to it i guess?
And the knight idea could be quite cool too. I just like the human form i guess. But it allows for a more graceful piece in my opinion. Not always, but i just like it. Good luck man!
