Yup, another Kyle :) I've just read Dune (again), and I've just bought Lynch's Dune on DVD (I can rip textures :)) So I have to model character from movie ;) I was thinking which character is better, Paul or Feyd, but I prefer Atreides, not Harkonnens :)
I hope this comp will be better for me than previous was - I wasn't able to finish Elvira :(

The nose looks a little thin, and the cheeks are pretty flat. They should do a kindof smooth stairstep down the face. It's a good likeness, though. Just the details need some work. I assume you are saving the hair until the end? It was the 80's - people didn't have hair - they had HAIR!

Yeah, HAIR needs more work (in 1984 I was 5 years old :]), I'm now modelling torso, maybe I'll post new screeshots at weekend - my job takes too much time :(

currently 3015 tris, I hope I'll fit in budget :) I would like to model entire suit in geometry.

I found this a while back but here's some images of the actual suit which should make for some pretty decent reference besides the movie footage.

Only face is taken from textures. Suit is hand (or mouse) painted.
I don't have close-ups for his pants, I'll have to improvise :(

Its coming along fine. I would add more sharp lines to the textures, the pads seem very bevelled right now. He looks very much like kyle though. Perhaps some alpha's for his hair would make it more hair-like though.

Thanks for reply. I know this texture isn't perfect, but it is my first hand-painted texture. Painted with mouse - I don't own a tablet. Hair needs more work too, but deadline is in this weekend, so I've to leave it :/ Next character will be better. I have few ideas :)

i think you did an outstanding job on the stillsuit (so far). it really carries across that whole HR Giger vibe. i likes it!
the only thing still bothering me is the hair. hopefully you can work that out in post. :) best of luck to you!
