View Full Version : Beast of Burden - Character - Shafeek
Shaf33k 07-06-2002, 01:02 AM Hi everyone,
My name is Shafeek Amiruddin and this is my first Thread, Post and Challenge. So I guess it's a first, for me at least. I've been lurking for some time and am extremley impressed at the quality of work that is posted here. Actually that has been the reason I've been reluctant to post anything; I kept saying to myself "man can I keep up with this crowd?" Well there's only one way to find out. Hope you enjoy my work as I have and will enjoy yours. Wish me luck.
So now to the challenge: The idea is for a beast that is more like a pampered superstar athelete. Very tempormental and emotional but when it comes to doing what they're good at, they demonstrate why they get the star treatment. I've drew inspiration from horses, rhinos and bulls. Now I hope I can finish it!
Well thanks for your time and hope to update soon.
Ciao!

Nice sketch and general design. I like how you already have the stuck-up expression on it's face. Great start! Welcome and good luck.

Otacon: I'm sure you've seen the massive amounts of updates, that are all really impressive. It will be very hard to even equal most of them. But I will keep
Well this is my first update.
Its kind of weird it seems to be evolving into some sort of unicorn on steroids. But that's cool its sort of what I was going for. I wanted the beast to have personallity and to feel and look a bit more majestic. Right now I'm just trying to get the major masses down then detail it later.
The Story sort of goes that this beast is like what we would now look upon as a monster earth mover. Similar to prized animals that are judged for their physical attributes and breed. This beast is judged on its strength. But of course having a beast like this is like having a expensive machine; it is prized and can be seen as a status symbol. That's why the horn will be adorned with rings to symbolize that strength and status of the beast and owner.

I like the long neck in the sketch. you should translate that into your model more.
the horn is more slender in the sketch too. the entire 3d model is very heavy-set.

Thanks Jacko, yeah your right needs to be a little more slender all around, but not to much I want a heavy brutish but gentle feel to him. And definitely the horn is really rough and needs to be slimmed down and tilted. Good eye though.
Thanks Ciao!

Feek, I like the concept. The initial modeling is coming out pretty good. You might need to fix the butt, because there is a big crack in it. ha ha ha. Sorry but I had to say that. Dat is all. I must go.

Rendar do I know you? Only friends call me feek, not that we couldn't be friends. But that caught me off guard. COO! Gimme me a shout.

You initial concept had to be one of the best sketches here, why have you moved away from it during the modelling? The front leg is far, far thicker, I thought the proprtions you had in the sketch were nicer. You just change your mind?
