Ahhhh just couldn't resist
Well guess I'm in too.. Best of luck to you guys all!!!

Hope to finish this challange for good... Noe winnings or loosings does matter... The most important thing is the challange it self.. Keep up the great and creative work ya all!!!

Well Here is my sketch for the challange... Basically it is an enchanted dragonfly... Now I guess there is visible only the main part wich was enchanted for the dragonfly.. But while it'll progress I'll add some other changes, such as robotic claws antenas and battery cell under the belly... But now I want to start modeling it as soon as possible...

Hopw you like the sketch...

Well this time I went in to some details... I've tried to make a search on the looks of the airscrew's blades and some details on the control mechanism of flight... It basically will be a miniature copy of helicopters control mechanism with 2 reverse airscrews.

nice! I love dragonflies! Your idea is cool, but how does it benefit the dragonflies? They can already beat their wings extremely fast and travel for miles without battery cells. No, but that's not very important at all, I am just curious to see if you have a plan for this enchanted dragonfly. I like your concepts! I am subscribing to this thread, I can't wait to see the model. I've tried modeling a dragonfly, but it's really hard. Good luck!

Thanx for the comment, Annuostivix,

I'm still thinking on the needs of the butteries, because the amount of electrical signals that the engine will need should be enough of that the body of dragon fly can produce... But Like I said that the dragon fly will be an enchanted one... This will include ont only flight mechanisme, but advanced vision wich will allow dragon fly not only to see everythin in 'pixels' but also alow to focus on its sight and fly more acuratly then ever. Also instead of antenas the radar will be implanted along with other improvments... Maybe even some deffence mechanims, such as stings... This gives a question on the need of the batteries... So I'm still thinking on that one ;)

Love the dragonfly... You should give him a flame thrower, dragon-fly, get it...

Love your sketches especially the wing details. Glad to see someone else staying away from the humanoid form...

Still sketching...

Well this time I've got to some details Like vision enchantments, charging mechanism nad leg improovments.. I'm thinking of putting inside of the tail on the bottom of solar batteries some of the battery cells so that the insect could fly in the night time as free as it could in day time... But...

I also got in sort of dilemma aboud flight mechanism.. Because I'm thinking of sort of beological cyborg, so does it really need such complex flyght mechanism? Maybe I just could enchant its original flight mechanism with 4 wings? But I think that It will kinda look more interesting this way...

By the way I think I'me getting more close to completing the Background story on this little fela... I'll post it soon enough...

It started...

Well... At last I've been able to sit down and do some modeling... It's not fully done yet, but... To all you the fellow challangers, and other kind guest.. I present to you all: da head of da beast ^^

If to speak seriously, I didn't make too much today, but guess got the general look of the head... so later the torso will follow..

Heh... I've just found somthing pritty interesting to my mind :bounce:

http://3d.impro.lt/exanju/dragonfly/df.jpg

It seems that I've olready made a dragon fly once... About 4 or 5 years ago.. Don't remember for sure. And it looked more like serpent fly

Well anyways.. To get somthing more interesting to read, I guess I'll put the background of my machineflesh character...

Mmm.. here goes...

The date is not a very distant future, but today...
Developed by army scientists some larger species of insects have been modified and reasembeled not just for there natural porupses, but also for service of man... Althogh they can not reproduces, the mechanisms can be easily extracted from the dead ones to the living.. The most suttable jobs for these micro cyborgs are quiet obviuos: spying and survalance. Some of them even as assasins. But because the natural poisons of different species mostly are known and easily cured, the advanced venoms are implanted within the insects to increes there efficiency...

But this futuristic technology was not made only for war.. Today in realetively peacfull times, these small life forms are used also for the more common porpuses.. such as micro flying survalance cameras in shops, banks, jails, and etc.. In future there are plans to use them even in medicine...

This particular speciment is a simple dragonfly, which could be found in most places around the world, enchanted to be a long range survalance agent.. It can fly long distances and stay active a very long period of time. Bionic blood replacement gives it a higher resistance capabily to natural elements, such as heat cold, and water.. Vision enchantments gives it possability to see and recognize objects more acuratly. Upgraded flight mechanism, powered by micro electrical motor which runs on battery packs and can be recharged using solar power, gives this small insect a possability to stay in the air almost for ever.. Antenas are replaced with miniature radio transmiters wich lets to recieve orders and instructions for operations, and transmit images seen be the agent directly in action.. Extremities were left almost original, because the muscule systems of the insect are to miniature to reproduce so that it could use them freely as their own. But special connectors were added to allow it to connect to the computers for information gathering.

Every mechanical part is controled by enchanted and computerized brane of the insect, which also razes its inteligens to the level from insticts to actual thinking, judging and acting acording to the situation.

Well so much for background and tech. info... Hope it gives at least a small idea about what I am trying to creat... Don't know if you'll like the story, because I'm not a very good write nor my english is good enough...

Still hope you like it.. See you all on the second part of the model - torso and tail

u know ... it's interesting :
now days scientists try to develop bird's like wings.....
it's seems like they give up in the future and return to the
rotor wings concept .....

Uhh... Sorry... Kinda was gone for pritty long... Had some work to do...

But yesterday.. I sat down.. And made somthing to push my work forward..

This little thingy is a mane part of flight mechanism which controls the directions to which the insect needs to fly... The engine will follow shortly..

See ya until then...

Well.. Here's todays addition :)

I thing the engin looks almost the same as I wanted to make it.. I'll add some tuneups later... But for know I'm satisfied...

Hi there all and thanx for support,

Sorry no progress in modelingtoday, didn't have much time on for it...
I just sat today on lunch brake and made a quick animation render to show you how the mechanics would work in motion...

Spinning, and spinning everywhere.Nice and it makes sense technically.Fantasy mixed with some realism is always a great thing...........................And ExanJU (Julius)..............your insect is so very nice that the Boulderbreaker bros have told me they will avoid rolling over it or getting it squashed on there windshield with there vessel................;)

Nice animation, works smoothly, and the modeling too is very well done.Liking your entry very much.

Thanx Virtuoso for support

Guess the little thingy just could fly away even in the ctitical situasion... The flight mechanism is an enchantment to make it fly better after all ;)
