Jason Dexter has entered the Machineflesh 3D Challenge.

Well I intend to finish this time... I have put alot of time into honing my drawing abilities, so perhaps I can illustrate my concept in a manner worthy of comment.

::CONCEPT::

Cedcort Control Unit

In the year 2240 a great deal has changed... the nations of earth have disolved and are now under the control of four all-dominating corporations. Freedom and family are thoughts of a distant past... for the massive corporations employ the human race as slave labor developing, constructing and deploying massive weapons against their opposition. All children are bred in laboratories and assigned a function that they spend the early years of their lives being "programmed" and "enhanced" for.

Existance for those who are not considered "elite" is that of a thoughtless drone. Each day millions of "Pawns" that have been implanted with a vast variety of mechanical devices are sent to their death on battlefields that span continents. Controlling these pawns from space based information centers are the "Cedcort", the genetically and mechanically enhanced living super-computers. Although the Cedcort have some remaining human appearence, they are essentially a large collective network of super-human minds all in constant coordination and pursuing a single ideal, the complete elimination of the competition.

Each cedcort can control over 30,000 combat or survelience units and do so with the assistance of several neuro-implants and the base stucture that is composed of thousands of microprocessors and sub-systems.

Stimulus-

Crowning the upper area of the cranium are several nodes that penetrate the skull and provide a suttle electrical stimulus timed to enhance the calculation speed of the various processing areas of the brain.

Optics-

Small impants are connected to each nerve behind the eyes that provide a series of realtime overlays that display tactical data of battlefields. Secondly there is a glass display over the right eye that provides additional information. Finally there is the large full-field of view display that is attached to the unit.

Audio-

Various audio signals are relayed through the primary cranial assembly. Some are passed directly through the skull as vibrations, some are passed through implants in the inner ear canal, while override commands are delivered directly through earpieces.

In/Out-

Data is sent between the cedort control units through hardwired connections and encoded wireless transmissions.

Environment-

The temperature in the control capsules is maintained at 82 deg Farenheit since the skin of the cedort is always exposed. Oxygen and nutrients are pumped directly into the bloodstream through a nose implant. Cedorts do not require food or water, and this leads to no waste.

I have a few sketched complete and after pulling the visuals together a bit more, I'll post it...

This is still very much a work in progress... I am adding detail as I can to this image. Thoughts & comments are very much appreciated.

My Comments:

Basically the human portion of this drawing is more of a placeholder... I plan to draw up a detail sketch of the head and body soon with better anatomical proportions and much more detail.

Here is the begining of the modeling process. I find it helps to have the basic 3d form available as you continue developing your concept... adds a little "perspective" ;)

As you can see, I am using Wings3D as my weapon of choice for this phase of the modeling. :bounce:
