I'm thinking of going with a futuristic roller derby. I'm still brainstorming at this point so the theme and characters could change. Also, I'd like to emphasize the characters robotic features much more. Her 'enhancements' will improve skating ability, fighting ability, and will generate a cloud of funkiness, which will dazzle and confuse. I'd also like to add a male counterpart.

Wow, getting to work fast :p Most people don't even know what they're doing yet. It'll be cool to see what you come up with. I like how you're using a sort of seventies style ;)

Thanks Evil Gerbil:D
I'm not even sure what I'm doing yet....I just want to make something FUNKY.

You must find a neat use for an afro! :D
Funky is good! :)

Good luck on the challenge. That is a great sketch.
Just watch out you won't fall for the trap of giving this girl some super shoes.
quote from the MF challenge rules:
the actual mechanical additions need to have an interaction and physical implementation into the body of the lifeform itself – ie it needs to actually have become a part of their body. This means that super x-ray glasses or pogo sticks that are permanently attached to their shoes do not count. The mechanical parts have to be incorporated into the actual body – the machine needs to have become one with the flesh via some sort of procedure.
Looking good Rachel. My immediate critique would be to parrot what Jeroen said (evil twin - I think he was born first therefore he beat me to it).
I like the retro-future rollerderby idea. Maybe you could put some retractable weapons or armor under the skin. The afro could double as an airbag. :D

It's always very nice to follow your entries wildsheepchase.......Always in that upper tier, from both a stylish level to execution............................Good idea give the goldfish more space.......Nice one.

@Jeroentje: Thanks! I'm making sure to make her robotic parts a lot more permanent than just some boots that slip on....don't worry. :D
@Kirt: The afro will play a key part in her defensive system...just not sure what yet. ;)

Still trying to work out the mechanics and maybe make them a bit more obvious. She looks too normal still.

She reminds me of something that you would see at a fair ground, maybe you could use those lightbulbs which they use at fairgrounds to blind the opponents. :)

The boots still look like something she's wearing. Keep exploring ideas ... I'm sure you'll come up with something wild.

I'm trying out some other ideas at the moment. This guy is adapted to be a scientist for a volcanic planet. The sail structure is designed to trap hot air and keep him aloft. His skin and eyes have also been modified. The skin has been coated with a substance that both insulates and acts as a barrier from splattering lava. There is also an embedded system that runs coolant across his body to keep his internal temperature cool. The eyes have a coating to protect from heat. More info to come on this concept.
