I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do yet, but my first idea would be to do something that addresses homelessness. I'm thinking a self contained unit/person that recycles trash and/or their own waste to be used as energy to keep them alive, warm and a functional part of their society.
I'll have to get to sketching to see if this works out into something or I end up taking a different approach to this challenge. It's definately going to be fun.

First sketch with just some basic ideas thrown down. Expect a lot of changes and possibly a completely different idea from me.
Nature of the beast ... I seldom hit on something that I like the first, second or twentieth time I sketch. :D
Thanks for your support friends.

This one is a bit of wishful thinking on my behalf. I've been raising kids for the past 9 years (9 years of diaper changing - pew!).
Not a serious idea, just having a bit of fun. I have 3 months ... expect a bit of goofing off. Hehehehe
http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/4/1612/1612_1079711888_medium.jpg (http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/entries/4/1612/1612_1079711888_large.jpg)
And one more idea I had (inspired by a gamer that I work with). This one actually isn't too bad for a final concept.
I might toy around with this one a bit more. Still debating which I'll go with for my final entry (homeless guy or the GameBoy).

Another idea ...
This one is a bodyguard for nerds. The machinery isn't as evident in this I'd have to redesign more for the challenge.
But basically, the body suit worn by Poindexter controls the body movements of a large host-bodyguard (ex football player or wrestler).

AP - Alemeda, CA
2020, the year of clear vision, it's ironic that morality reaches a new level of obscurity. Applied Robotics Institute of Alemeda (ARIA) Engineers are arrested for running an underground robotics cock-fighting ring. Animal rights activists have become enraged at the senseless and cruel mutilations of live chickens that have been augmented with robotic battle enhancements.
"It's just sick." stated a member of PETA, "These techno-geeks have taken the sport of BattleBots and perversly married it to the already illegal activity of cock-fighting. It's a sad day for animal activists and the human race as a whole. I mean ... what's next? Whale/submarine racing?"
Representatives from ARIA could not be reached for comment.

The chicken is great. You could take 2 bionic chickens and throw in some bionically adjusted homeless men around the edges of a small cock fighting ring.
Matt
Thanks! I think I am going to go with the beaver idea. It had me chuckling as well. I noticed a couple other chickens being done already so that one gets ruled out immediately.
I'm going to start fleshing out the lumberjack character and maybe some more detail drawings of the beaver. Then I'll get to work on composition and some sort of final layout.

Go Kirt!!!
That beaver is an excellent idea. Very, very funny
Just make sure there will be some major mechanical adjustments on the beaver, or it will only be a concept of a lumberjack, using a beaver as a chainsaw.

Kirt, you're a genius and a sick bastard!
The motorized beaver is great! It would be really cool to make this look like some sort of advertisement. I'm pretty sure there's not a single high-gloss Lumberjack Magazine who wouldn't love to publish it ;)

magicm - No fair reading my mind. I was just about to do up a layout design for the beaver ad.

Ontario? Chino Hills? :curious:
There's cows in LA too? Dang, they must have migrated south through the grapevine during the winter. :D
