Hello all,

I'm trying to change the namespace for an entire Heirarchy. I can do it one at a time, but... well that's slow.

Is there a flag that I'm missing? Thanks

nah, the namespace commands are, to be kind, sh*t-house...

check out my zooNameSpacey (http://www.macaronikazoo.com/mel/download/zooNameSpacey.zip) script. it can do what you're after.

Dude, That ROX... That was exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you so very much

Spoke a bit too fast... now all the children also have their parents names infrom of their own... so- NameSpace:Hips_Spine_Shoulder_UpperArm and so on... That doesn't help ;)

Close though... or did I do something wrong...

so let me see if i understand this properly. you've got an object called- nameSpace:UpperArm which is parented to- namespace:Shoulder

you go to rename the namespace, lets say to elephant, and your shoulder object becomes- elephant:Shoulder_UpperArm

is that right? because i have the same setup (ie two separate heirarchies each with the objects Shoulder and UpperArm) and it works fine... hmmm, let me double check the latest version of the script is posted

Actually, the Heirarchy has no namespace yet... or I guess maybe Root...

Do I select all the objects or just the root object for the heirarchy??

I tried selecting the root and then useing the script...

Thanks for your help

you don't have to select anything - its all taken care of through the UI. whats selected is irrelevant.

is it possible for you to send me the scene that its not working with? or at least part of the scene.
