wow that's coming right along. I like most of your sketch, but wouldn't it's tail get run over by the truck thing it's pulling? Other than that it's pretty cool.

:p
Well hehe it sorta looks that way from the profile but under the car it will be cut out. So his tail will fit under the cart with out getting squished. :p

:)

Guess I should color the sketch hehehe.

Well basically is has very powerful underbelly muscles that allow him to move heavy weight! :O

07-06-2002, 03:52 AM
kewl idea... to compensate for the weight his lower snake section might be farther forward than his torso though. otherwise he looks like he is about to lose traction and get pulled under. I really like the overall concept however.

Cool idea! I really like the arms and I would like to see that kind of exagerated detail in the face (lips, eyebrows, eyelids) like you have it in the sketch.

Keep going! :applause:

i say put a bar in his teeth like they do to horses... that would be uncomfortable, and i assume the emotion you're going for is anger/pain?

Flarp, nice idea, and the model is coming along nicely
Though the 2nd row of muscles on his upper arm seem to be very
sharp on their lower part. and btw, looks like hes broken his
elbow, its bending beyond the natural joint.

About other tools, check out CSPolytools aswell.

Trying to Flesh out some creative Ideas for the cart..
Any Creative Ideas welcome! I was intending on sticking with the main design, but my brother seems to think that he would look more burdend if the cart was on his back, and he was pulling something Large.

Well I havent posted an update for a bit. So I figured it was about time. I need to get started on the Harness design. I Was having some intital trouble with the trailor concept.. I mostly had it just blocked out in the concept, and their is still alot of detail to be added.

Please Feel free to comment I feel so Lonely here at the bottom of the food chain!

hmmm...just got back to this thread...
The modeling on the wheels is kinda funky. I'm not sure if I like it or not. The spikey bump on the tread is kida cool, but Since the cart is being pulled by the BoB does it even need treds? The back part of it (the open flatbed part) looks a bit plain compared to the front. I'd work on getting more detail into that part.

great thought of your design~I like it a lot .there is one advice is add more detail on you character's face .such as the wrinkles on the surface around the lip .noise and eye .

Well I was taking into account Rex's Post. I am trying to give him that Straining look, so I took his advice and added some wrinkles..
I dont know if I am running into some limitations of the mesh or what. I have to Subdivide alot to get smooth wrinkles thus jacking my face count to da moon. I have also really taken to heart the comment Z0-1 Made, and am working on some new solid designs for the cart. Thanks for all the kind post I am very new to this community and really appreacite the professional imput! Here are 2 shots of the head. Do the wrinkles look right or trash baggie?

I still have to design a believable Harness that looks like the Master could manage to keep this beastie under control. Then Add a trinket..wash the dog, do the dishes, paint the house, rake the yard, pet the hog, manage world peace and solve world hunger.......

I think the ammount of wrinkles you have right now look good, you just need to make them more exagerated. Try pushing in the "valleys" and pulling out the "peaks" of the wrinkles around the eyes more.
Oh, and I don't know what the heck I'm talking about so don't take anything I say to heart :p hehehe

damn flarp this is really turning out. that face has got alot of character. a few crits, i dont like the cheek bone, the muscle structure seems off, since he has both ape and human structures in his face i would look at both of there structures, the inside of the eye needs to be refined a little as well, other wise keep going this guys has got charisma

Z0-1: Heh does this mean you got your bug from viewpoint datalabs? (j/k)
Anyone who can get that kinda detail, I really value their input!!!

Rizob: I agree with the cheek bone crit. I was trying to bring out more straining features around that area.. Now I see the importance of really planning your mesh. The way the lines run it is hard to add detail when the mesh doesnt respond correctly I should have thought it through more indepth :surprised

Yes you could change your contraption around a bit so that it compensates for the beasts long tail. Make it have a large space in the middle with compartments on both sides maybe? I like the bit in the mouth idea too that someone thought of ;) Over all great work

The head is starting to take shape. What's the seam down the middle?? Just from mirroring process?

Rex
07-14-2002, 04:23 AM
nice ~nice!it's looking great !and I have one advice is I think you should try to use some wrinklee to separate the upper lip .and the body muscle looks a little lo-ploy !

Flarp
07-14-2002, 11:11 AM
Riki: yeah the seam is just the instance that will go away when I collapse and weld.

Rex: I have done acouple of Meshsmooth test.. It looks like all low poly flat areas will be smoothed... ( At least I am hoping it will be I am hoping hehe)

Nice facial work there Flarp! My only crit would be that the teeth appear to be part of the head, instead of "gummed in". The strain on the face is apparent, but not strained enough IMHO.

I want to see this beast sweating! :p

maybe make the bit for the mouth look as if it is pulling the skin back around the mouth...right now looks like he is biting down on the bit...also maybe vary the teeth a bit...he looks like he should have some sharp teeth in there too...just a thought:thumbsup:
