If I would have time I would have done him. I´ve actually allready done him, but that was a long time ago and the model is quite crappy compared to now :)

A bit of info. I chose Johnny in Fear and Loathing as I like the H.S. Thompson character and he does a lot of great facial expressions that I thought would be fun to carry over to facial morphs so that is one of my goals. So the face will have more geometry than just profile info. It was a close draw between Dead Man and Sleepy Hollow though. Here's the first round of modeling. 2600 tris so far:

Looking pretty good, but the head is way too small compared to the rest of the figure.

Yes the head is too small and also the frame of the body seems much more stout than johnny depp. Especially the legs, they seem like the legs of a heavy carriaged perosn

Really good model, but the proportions are well off in my opinion.
The head is way too small, and either the legs are too short, or the arms are too big. its hard to tell because i cant see his hips.
I would Just get some reference and get the proportions fixed, after that, i would say the model is spot on!
Oh yeah, one more thing - his fingers look a bit sharp on the tips.

Thanks for the feedback. I made the head larger and adjusted the legs.
I modeled his flyswatter and an inkbat as well. I allotted enough tris to make 10+ bats which will be flying around and trailing behind him as he runs around. The goal is to make them 2d transparency mapped inkbats and I hope to make a stretchy rig for them so they can deform as well. His poly count with the swatter is around 4300 tris and the bats are 14 tris each.

nice m8, but he still seems a bit off. The guy is to long, Jonny is smaller and his shoes look like clown shoes

I disagree, I think this is a pretty good likeness. It's a charicature, and stylized, but I recognize it instantly as Hunter S. Thompson as portrayed by Johnny Depp. But more over I feel the themes from the movie coming off the model, and I think that's something the majority of the models in this competition lack.

I like it! Not to mention, I love that friggin' movie... I think that it's a pretty good likeness, but that the camera angle is what makes it look not quite right. I'd love to see him ported into GTA or something, running around, selling drugs, stealing cars, smacking people with the flyswatter... That would be sweet.
