hi, ive been testing S&H for some logo animation with hair and ive come to this problem that i cantt seem to resolve.

the hair always pass trought the geometry.

Ive tryed a higher value of stifness but still, the hair never colide with the geometry.

here is an test animation with a ball to show better the problem.

Have you tried applying a fully transparent shader to the ball so it doesn't show up?

ive already try a transparant shader and even hide the geometry and rendered only the hair ,

but if i do that i get strange effects were the hair enter the area of the geometry.

transparant shader:

same efect as if the geometry where there...

geometry hide:

transparant areas and specular inside the object.

How about turning off Primary Visibility in the attr editor of the sphere?

Are you sure that the sphere is set up as a collision mesh?

or if everything fails, you could try emailing Joe Alter with your problem. He's sure to know some sort of fix for it.

looks like only the ground plane is a collision mesh. (make sure you set display to guides to get a better look at the collision in action).

when you do 'update collision mesh' for the node you need to have both objects selected, the sphere and the plane.
