Oxymen 03-15-2004, 11:40 AM Hi.
I have just started using maya and I have done most of the tutorials on digitaltutors.com.
But I still feel lost every time I open it up.. :cry:
I have Experience with Blender 3d wich I have used for some years now, but I feel ready to move on..
Does anyone have any good beginner tutorials, guides or similar?
I realy want to learn maya, but my pockets are dangerously empty so it would be nice if I found any free or low-cost sollutions.
Thanks.

It's better to start from "Instant Maya" from Maya help, this will give you good vision of what are you doing... :)
And don't be sad, we all were like you! ;)

I remember not understanding how the multicolored manipulators worked. Don't feel bad at all.

Hi Oxymen,
maya tutorials... -->
http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6360
it might be that the following links also are mentioned in the above thread, but here they come anyway...
I will suggest you to take a look at 3dbuzz... -->
http://www.3dbuzz.com
and also LearningMaya... -->
http://www.learningmaya.com
besides that, then as eYadNesS says "instant Maya" is also a good place to start... if you haven't received a copy with your Maya version, I will suggest you to contact Alias our your Maya provider to get it... :)
