Environment / Level Artist

Obsidian Entertainment is looking for 3D environment / level artists for one of our upcoming RPG products. Some things we’re looking for in an artist for the position:

Major Duties:

Demonstrate a broad range of excellent modeling abilities.
Create and apply excellent textures, especially related to the areas of modeling levels and architecture.
Demonstrate complete mastery of game development software tools needed for model and texture creation and implementation.
Collaborates effectively with art leads during review sessions which results in the finest artistic look possible.
Meets project deadlines / milestones, as set by project leads, and the producer.
Consistently exercises sound judgment in all areas of expertise.
Qualifications:

A demo reel demonstrating excellent 3D modeling and texturing skills. Work must clearly demonstrate exceptional ability in the areas of artistic, stylistic and polygonal versatility.
BFA or equivalent game development experience strongly preferred.
Additional art skills in the following areas are also preferred: fine art skills, drawing and painting, lighting and color.
2 years of professional experience working as a 3D modeler in computer gaming or a related field.
Strong technical knowledge related to 3D Studio Max modeling tools and game engine technologies.
Complete command of 3D Studio Max’s modeling and texturing tools.
Proficiency working in Photoshop.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be receptive to art direction and perform well within a team setting.
Willingness to work overtime if necessary.
